Why is it that everyone has to have an US vs THEM attitude? It seems a particularly Australian trait to be insular and cliquey.

The rules on chatty discussions are relaxed there, but those are the ONLY rules that are relaxed. If some people take this as a green light to post other material that is against the rules of the site and so give that board an unduly negative reputation they have only themselves to blame.

The rules are pretty clear on what is acceptable and what is not.

Added to that we seem to get a few core groups who think that board is their personal playground and anyone who isn't in their clique should be ridiculed or hounded off, or excluded via in-jokes and private lingo. Some other people think every single thread needs their input, no matter what how inane or irrelevant their contribution. When someone is suspended or blocked from TLC board their clique complains loudly about how boring the board is now that the "interesting" people aren't there.

If you think TLC board is viewed in a bad light the only logical solution is to clean up your own act in regards to the material you post and to be more inclusive of your fellow visitors to that board. You'll be amazed at how much more interesting it becomes.
