To the forum site.Their admin and board are changing it so it is members of the football club only.Hows this for a money grabbing idea. They don't like people not using their names. How weak are they.

I am a lions supporter, but can't afford a Lions membership.
I am disgusted that the club is closing the forum.
If I was a member of the club, I wouldn't be joining as I would not like other strangers to know my details. This can't be good for your personal security. They are letting non members still read the forum, so everyone has access to your name etc.
Also they obviously don't want opinons of supporters. What about freedom of speech. What if the Lions don't like what you say, then what you get banned .
Due to finanacial problems this is the 1st year my family has not been members. Now we willl never be members again.

What a good way of encouraging supporters to become members, not.
That admin and board have no idea.
I have a friend who was a Lions member in brisbane. They only got their membership renewals 2 weeks before Christmas, and if you didn't pay by the 23rd Dec, you didn't get your seats from last year.No ifs buts or maybe, no payment plans, just cough up the money. She rang them, and said please can we pay in 6 weeks like w enormally have yearly, and was told no concessions to anyone. She didn't have the money, for a family of 5, over 700 , in 2 weeks at that time of year.

Perhaps the Lions have had some sort of legal problems with their forum. Clubs like Hawthorn have had to shut theirs down because of rumours being spread while the Crows have had to shut theirs on occasion.

Our fan forum is still running and despite the occassional trouble makers, people using others nicks and that sort of thing, it is still a good read.
