Broadbeach Cats player Dayne Zorko has been traded to Brisbane Lions

HE has a 60-metre on-the-run kick and has won four consecutive best and fairest awards for his Broadbeach club.
Now Dayne Zorko is finally set to receive the AFL chance many pundits said should have come much earlier.
Zorko, 22, was traded from the Gold Coast Suns to the Brisbane Lions yesterday in the final hours of trade week.
Matt Angus, his coach at NEAFL club Broadbeach Cats, said Zorko would become a household name in the AFL and feature in the Lions' round 1 team.
"He was the most influential player in the NEAFL and he will have a long and successful AFL career now he has an opportunity," Angus said.

How a 22 year old player has come through as a mature ager and gone onto win 4xBest and Fairests, 2xLeading goal kickers and captain us to a 2nd place finish is really under rated as a great story and I think if he does end up captaining us to a flag (big step I know) it will become one of the truly great underdog stories in footy.

Biggest moment in our rebuild other than Fagan/Noble.

Berry signed like 4 weeks in to his lions career when nobody else would go near a contract and Hugh is Hugh.

Mitch Robinson left shocked at being dumped by Carlton according to manager

DUMPED Carlton utility Mitch Robinson was shocked to hear he was unwanted by the club.
Robinson, 25, was told on Tuesday his time at Visy Park was over — a month after he lied about being in a 5am city brawl that also involved teammate Jeff Garlett.
The Blues are working to engineer a trade, but even if there are no suitors Robinson will be offered up as a delisted free agent. He has just come out of contract.......

......“But he understands that’s their stance and now that the next chapter is coming up hopefully his playing career will take off.”............

Man that last quote of the article:

"Our aim as a club is to become relevant again and this trade is the first small step in a clearly defined strategy for the coming years that we have laid down internally to make us better."

How bloody prescient does that look in hindsight
