North board talking about adding Corr, Williams and Saad to their backline for 2021
When will they learn?
I'd be happy with Ross Lyon running the box and Leon on the boundary but I doubt the budget can afford it. Left field somebody like James Hird if he was in the head space to do it in the same setup, tactically he was well regarded. Without Covid he could still live in Melb and do 3 days a week in Sydney. Outside of the spotlight it might work ok, players would respect somebody of his ilk and what he achieved in his playing days.
Hird probably was an alright coach, but no chance in hell anyone goes near him unless he's volunteering his services or paying them for a seat in the box. From the GWS board regarding coaching...
Was so good tactically that he needed his players pumped full of substances unknown...
I wouldn't mind if he coached us. Nothing the club does can upset me anymore.Hird probably was an alright coach, but no chance in hell anyone goes near him unless he's volunteering his services or paying them for a seat in the box.

Mark Fine has had a raging murder boner for the MFC for years. Its quite funny hearing him talk up the saints future prospects over Melbourne's for 10 years only to end up about the same. Not on these boards but on the Footyology Podcast. Mark Fine was essentially saying that GWS and Gold Coast supporters can easily dissociate themselves from results or chronic underperformance because unlike people like him (St Kilda supporter) and Rohan Connolly, his cohost (Essendon) they are not born with that tribal passion coursing through their veins. They were basically theatregoers and more accepting of mediocrity, like Melbourne supporters. ******* idiot.
Need I mention the umpteen fan financed bailouts, the highest supporter to member ratio in the AFL, the open mass weeping during the 2018 finals at the mere thought that we could be competent, the booing of Tom Scully almost a decade after the fact, the million fan podcasts that are out there, the wrist slashing that goes on in fan forums after every loss. The MFC has a heap of problems both current and cultural but fan apathy is not one of them.
Do all these boomer campaigners actually believe in the stereotype that all Melbourne fans are dispassionate eastern-suburban, MCC, private school, ski bunny twats? I kind of expect it from dickheads on BF trying out their hot banter which is ultimately just rehashed Coodabeens satire that fell out of date in 1988 but it’s disappointing when you have media pundits who are supposedly nuanced and impartial buying into it and getting paid to do it.
Same goes for Eddie McGuire trying out his geography based humour while calling the game on the weekend. “Oh, the people in Toorak will be nervous now...” - you live in Toorak, you fatcat campaigner. I’ve lived in Broady the past few years and have never seen your wide load around here, nor your ******* brother who’s supposedly the local MP.
Mark Fine, Eddie McGuire any other wannabe comedian that forgot that they are there to talk football and not anthropology... Welcome to the ******* bin!
add Langdon to that list. but hey Danger gets selected no matter what and Clarry WTFLooney Bin is the AA selectors, didnt even have Steven May in the 40 man squad.

To be honest he got snubbed both years. And I definitely think this year was better than those years; started to figure it out ball use wise, bursting from stoppages, much better chemistry with Vines and Trac, better at spreading from stoppages when those guys won the footy.Oliver very lucky to be selected. Had better seasons in 2017 and 2019 when he missed the squad, bizarre.
or they don't actually watch most games and just look at stat sheet after picking their normal favsOliver's good games this year we're very good. But the rest were pretty ineffectual. Still got a bazillion contested possies so maybe Goody was on the selection panel and got him in the squad.
Think this is most likely.or they don't actually watch most games and just look at stat sheet after picking their normal favs
He and Nic Nat the only rucks so a good shot at that.May deserves it more than Gawn but I do find it very satisfying for Gawn to rack up multiple AAs. He better make the final side now.

That is literally the worst AA team I've ever seen. Well done Gawn but wtf not 1 wingman named half forward line not 1 of them play there. all of AFL awards are ******* trash selected by ******* idiots. then there's the brownlow selected by the mob everybody hates
its an actual joke Butler should have made it so should 2 actual ******* wingman. McCluggage and Menegola had killer years. Either let public choose or the entire footy media instead of a few clowns. how many games would they actually watch? its just like oh we need Dusty and Danger in every team Bont can join them as wellOnly one actual specialist small / mid sized forward in the team.
Using the Goody theory, fill team with excessive midfielders.
