Autopsy The loss therapy thread - Hawkers welcome

I feel sick. Like we've already lost.

So I think I'm ready to deal with a loss face on... My first step in therapy will be going to my accountant to get my tax done which will probably result in a bill not a return... Probably get a parking fine whilst I'm in there... Maybe I should be renamed pessimistic, but the way I see it it's Going to be a painful weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday...

Go the cats (Mooroopna)
I can empathize.

I have to go into this one with little or no expectation of winning to have any chance of dealing with a Cats loss like a mature human being.

I censored my earlier post, but seeing it got mentioned... Hookers and blow..

Go Catters
Daz, you and me buddy. Let's hit the town!!

Are You by any chance the guy who works with Josh on the AFL Season Information & Off Season News facebook page? and also have a geelong youtube channel?
I also think you might be the bloke who gave a cracking reaction to motlops mark against sydney.
Not sure though, just curious ahaha

Yes, yes and yes. Oh god... that shot of me after the Motlop mark is still coming back to haunt me... For the record, I was chanting "MOOOOOOOOOTTTTLOOOOPPP!!!!".... Not sure how the face happened.

If we win I'll get a haircut. If we lose you're all putting up with another year of this.

;)
This, now more than ever, has become the game we HAVE to win. :p

On the outside I am zen. At peace. It's only a game.
On the inside I am rage incarnate, a sea of fire that cannot be quenched.

This is me, after the Freo loss, I shrugged my shoulders and said oh well, we still have next week. But inside I was raging, my kids looked at me and saw it in my eyes and backed off, I didn't see them for a few hours. I rearranged all the furniture in the house in an hour and a half.

Flight of the Conchords always does the trick for me whenever I'm a bit down in the dumps.

The worst thing is catching up with friends later in the weekend and they act like someone has died, they're treading on eggshells around you and so on. It just makes it worse...I'd almost rather them give me shit about it and bust my balls like people always do with their mates. Honestly, I get over it pretty quickly. One sleep, tops and I'm ok.

I'm preparing myself for a loss too. However, like a break-up even when you're sure its coming you're never fully prepared. :(

If we lose I'll begin work on either...

...and then return sometime before 7:50pm, September 13, 2013.

I'll find Paul Chapman and tell him that when the opportunity to bump Robbie Gray presents itself during the game - DON'T DO IT!!!

Hahahaha, for sure.

Loved the stats on Twitter by the way, borrowed them for the Geelong Football Club Supporters Page (and quoted you as the source of course :))
Um, yeah, that isn't me.

I'm not that bad now. Most of my mates are footy fans, all of the in-laws are Geelong fans so there's no need to explain things, and to be honest there are a lot of other interests I have now that are more important to me. I'll be pissed off for sure for a bit after the game, but as I'm expecting to lose probably not as much as usual.

The only interest I'll have after tonight I'm guessing will be watching the list management decisions after the season.

Yeah, I think I'm ok with losing generally. It's just hearing people give you their condolences for a couple of days after the fact (when you're well and truly over it) that can grate a bit.

I'll also be weighing up grand final day party options, since I'm not interested in going, if Geelong is not a part of it. That will be good to occupy me for a bit. As an indication of how spoilt we have been, it's a bit of a novelty to do the BBQ with mates thing on grand final day for a change.

a close loss would be incredibly painful, the week 1 loss to Fremantle wasn't so bad because you knew with 7 minutes remaining, the game was slowly slipping away as every second passed but a loss in the final couple of minutes like that this year against Brisbane or Adelaide would be a bitter pill to swallow.

I've got an even better option potentially. My wife's MCC membership came up in the ballot, so she can go, so if she does I get to babysit and watch science docos / wrestle with my 2-year-old. Far more preferable to watching Hawthorn or Fremantle celebrate. :D
