Pirlo , like Lampard , jumped the line straight into a top job.
But the catch is , they had to win straight away and have no time for career development .
Compared to say Klopp who started out at Mainz and many other top coaches who started in smaller clubs.

Lampard started at Derby?

His press conference post his last match when he said he wanted some players to leave immediately was probably the final straw.

I'd like to see how he goes with better players / a bigger club, but doubt he gets that chance.

Gotta feel sorry for him, covid hit for them at the absolute worst time. They were playing with confidence and I think sitting 6th/7th when the season was postponed. On resumption they had an average finish to the season, then this season they have fallen apart.

He’d only signed a 4-year extension in early 2020, had taken them from league one to the PL in 3yrs.. it may be mutual, but should have been backed to bring them back up

Yeah it's very weird as he'd be the top of a lot of clubs' lists to bring in to get them promoted to the PL.

Newcastle fans making noise about getting Wilder...good idea. Good tactician...just don’t get him to buy players.
Why not? Built a fantastic squad at Sheff. Surely you aren't focussed on Brewster?

Meant since promotion. McBurnie and Mousset had 12 goals between them last season. Mousset looked at times but inconsistent. Stat going around this season £50m on strikers for one goal in 48 games. Ramsdale

I dunno if he's solely responsible for the signings since promotion, but they did finish top half last season..

Ramsdale has been fine, first half of the season was tough on him but he's put in some great performances lately.

Thibk it probably was the right time for Wilder and The Blunts to move on, but should have waited till the end of the season imo.

Why's that? To get back up they'd want to bring in the best manager available who happens to be.. Wilder.

Well if Wilder wanted out (which seems to be the case), they might as well let him go.

If they want to go straight back up, they should hire Slaven Bilic who is currently managing in China.

So many jobs are going to open up for Wilder. Who would bet that sides like West Brom and some of the lower end premier league team will want him !

Im also hearing that Eddie Howe wants to stay in the south, hence him still being out of work.
He is waiting for something to open up. Maybe Southampton ?

Ramsdale is trash. One of the main culprits why Sheffield Utd is going down. Also played a big part in Bournemouth going down last season.
Yeah no. Sheffield have 16 goals in 29 matches. That's not keeping you up even if you have Alisson in goal.
