I suspect he was told he wasn't going to get much to spend on transfers and didn't think it was worth sticking around etc.

Yeah after finishing 4th it would have to have been not just not much to spend but also we are possibly selling some of your key men and giving you next to none of that to replace them. Bizzare really when they are 4-5th favourites to go up in the UK.
