Wow. Not sure about this one. His style couldn’t be more different to Nuno, and he’s replacing a manager who the fans loved. Big job to take on and that’s without factoring in the mental owner.

Still, it’s good to see him back in the league.

B2B UEL??

Roma and the UEL king Emery's Villa would be the two main competitors. But a lot of clubs NFFC are perfectly capable of beating.

It’s shocking given results but it felt like that press conference from Nuno a couple of weeks ago was him wanting to be sacked. The concern for Ange or whoever takes the job is what drove him to that point.

I do think it’s a good squad on paper capable of playing decent football, but the fans already are going to be against the new manager and with no preseason to work with it feels a dangerous job to take.

Yeah, a poll showed two thirds of supporters were on team Nuno, so that's a worry.

You are right though ... Nuno was trying to get sacked and it felt like he was prepared to sabotage our team to make it happen. Edu got him a great squad to work with, but Nuno was sulking about not getting Traore. He can't handle an attacking squad, doesn't want depth, and is terrible with subs. The sub issue was a problem the entire second half of last season. No wonder our first team was getting injured and run into the ground.

Credit for developing a defensive game plan to cater for our limited squad at the time, and getting us into Europe, albeit only just, but why must we play dour defensive football again this year, when we had the cash to splash and European football? He's content to get 1-0 up and go ultra defensive, and then if we go down 1-0, it's only then he thinks about making a substitution.

I love Nuno's persona and appreciate the hell out of what he did for us last season, but you have to accept change and Edu did a decent job of getting some good players over the line during the trade window.

Going by the link in the NYT article Nuno fell out virtually straight away with Edu, being aggressive to the point now where they don’t talk and Edu deliberately stays away from training. Suppose they thought completely unworkable

We just got Edu on board as global football manager. If Nuno was all 'him or me', what does he expect will happen?

I'll criticise Edu too when it's required, but I fail to see what else Marinakis could have done here.

Im surprised ange has taken this i thought he would wait for a better PL job come up or the Japanese job. His style usually goes better after a pre season so going in mid season is a risk.

Ange is official I believe. No low block football. Whether that kills us or furthers us, time will tell.

In Ange I trust ... I guess

It will be a huge shift in tactics to go from low block to half way line press. And part way through a season with little time to train as players are coming back from international duty. Arsenal might win by 3 or 4.

Yeah. We'll probably get tonked this week. It will take time. Ange loves his wing backs and Aina just did a hammy on international duty.
