mel has left brom by mutual consent.

a mistake for me. i like mel, he did really well at betis when he had players to fit his system. get him the players and he could've had brom in midtable.
I agree 100% That being said I thought Clarke was stiff to get the sack and Di Matteo as well at Brom.

The odds of Moyes to take the job has come in quite a bit!

Here's a stat Tactics Tim seemed to never bring up during his time with us:

"Tim Sherwood: Lost 35.7% of the matches he took charge of at Tottenham, compared with former boss André Villas-Boas, who lost 20%"

Sherwood sacked.

Oh well, thanks for the good work Timbo.

Got a good points return, treated like shit by the 'supporters'.

I think he'll be a long-term PL manager.
He did a good job playing the spoilt only child. His points per game was no better than AVB's this season and he literally had no clue. Burnt out young Bentaleb playing him in big games over Brazilian and Belgian internationals.s. Rode the saving Adebayor gravy train for a while and then was rescued by Eriksen (the guy who was injured for 1/2 of AVB's tenure this season) heroics at the end. Good riddance! He will be no more than a Pardew style mid-table laughing stock manager
What was the general consensus among Spurs fans regarding Sherwood? Seems to have split opinion a bit. I reckon he will get another gig in the top flight (was actually mentioned as a possible Pardew replacement if Cashley sacked him but that looks like it won't be happening).

Is there any talk of who might get the job? I read Pochettino a few days ago (sad if true for Southampton who look like they might be gutted losing key players and possibly, a manager).

Sounds like Sam is about to be shown the door.
I just don't understand this. 13th place isn't too bad and they were never really in serious danger of going down in the run in.

Fans harp on about playing an attractive brand, high tempo football but not many teams in the division have the resources to do so successfully. Sure, his hoofball stuff is rubbish to watch, but it's stood firm in the most competitive and physical league in the world. Don't think i'd prefer pretty looking football over the substance of success and survival at the highest level. Be interested to hear what West Ham's aims were at the start of the season.

well yes, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have greater expectations.
Internally, possibly. It's ridiculous the amount of money they pay and credit is due to whoever negotiated that contract :D

But from a fan perspective, it's not really crucial to expectations. And I don't see the, finishing a lot higher then 13th in the future, especially if they start chasing a more attractive and expansive game style. As a Liverpool fan, going to play Fat Sam's teams has been a nightmare for a decade (apart from when he was the manager of the barcodes, and they way they go against us I doubt even the finest in the world would be able to conjure up a result). Bolton especially was a horrible place for us to visit, and that was purely about how physical they were to our often diminutive, attack minded players.

well it kind of does. the more paid to fat sam, the less money available on other resources. usually the less money there is, the less talented players that will be picked up. west ham have a massive wage bill in comparison to the players' ability. it's obviously not just fat sam's fault but for the amount of money spent on the manager and mediocre players, i can see why the fans are frustrated. no one wants to pay top dollar to go see a dull team with a dull manager.

My best mate is a Hammer's fan and their fans generally know their lot in life. East London (where the club is from) is generally considered a working class part of London and the club have a strong tradition of playing attacking football. The fan's don't expect to be fighting for the title but they do expect their players to entertain them on the pitch.

Also, our record against Liverpool isn't great but we have had some success in recent times. Pardew's first game in charge we triumphed and we also won 2-0, 2 seasons ago in Andy Carroll's return to St James'. Not like we haven't won a few along the way (unlike Richmond's record against the pies in the last few years...);)

They consider East London to be a part of Melbourne?

Well they can play their attractive football.. in the 2nd division. I remember Carroll scoring against a few years ago (might have been just before the window we bought him in) and to be fair you did get a point against us this year. I won't go on with the Pies v Tigers in recent years for your sake :D

I have seen some Hammers fans say on other forums they would rather play entertaining football in the Championship than be bored senseless in the Premier League.

As an Arsenal fan I dont know what it is like but after a time struggling in the Premier League actually winning games in the Championship has to be more enjoyable.

Some Newcastle fans said the same thing when we went down. I guess if your club has no real chance of winning silverware, it's at least preferable to see them winning most weeks, scoring goals and playing well than getting beat on by bigger sides. I didn't mind our stay in the championship a few years back, it was almost a more 'pure' footballing experience. Following relegation, it was also nice to win almost every week.

That being said, I wouldn't want to go there again (unless it perhaps makes Cashley sell up, that might just sway my mind).

Brian McDermott apparently the front runner for the West Brom job
Don't know what he's done to merit another shot. Did well getting Reading promoted but was shit when they got there. No discernable style or ethos about him.

Speaks well in interviews but I'd see that as a forerunner to relegation if I was a baggie.
