He claimed that Fat Sam and Nolan were constantly harassing him to join up with their agent.

Morrison was happy with the agent he had. But they kept on at him so he wanted out.

West Ham claim it was because he was faking an injury and refusing to pay.
Pretty interesting - hadn't heard that before moomba (Big Sam has a bit of rep as well for normally being able to work with some of the 'bad' boys and get the best out of them). Is he still on the outer?

Wouldn't mind Ravel at the toon, very talented kid despite his baggage.

Neil Lennon is favourite for the Norwich job
Would Lennon really give up Celtic and almost guaranteed silverware and success (plus a club close to his heart) to drop down into the Championship? I guess if he has further ambitions, he'd need to look at trying his hand in England.

Bit of a strange move if he went, surely it'd be a step down from Celtic to the Championship.
Claims to have decided that the Scottish league doesn't get any better than where he already is.

He applied for a couple of vacant PL jobs and was knocked back. He wants to manage PL and believes the only way to do so is to get involved in the English Leagues.

Norwich are apparently all for it as it enhances the chances of keeping Hooper.

Well if Lennon moves at least we'll see how good he really is, the Championship is a far more competitive league than the SPL. It'd be a real kick in the teeth to the Scottish league system though, the manager of the biggest club in the league leaves to manage a club like Norwich.

That's fair enough I guess - while it would be nice to keep winning the league, cup comps nearly every season and getting a Champions League campaign to try and cause a few upsets, if Lennon wants to manage at the highest level he can, he would need to leave Celtic.

It seems a lot of CL players and managers from Celtic and before that Rangers who have wanted to move to England over the years, have wanted to jump straight into the PL. For players in particular, it seems a lot of managers in the top flight tend to not rate dominating in the SPL as a strong enough reason to jump straight into the EPL and they have to drop down a level to prove their pedigree first. Probably a bit the same for managers - Martin O'Neill perhaps an exception to the rule though he did have some success with your boys Jatz before heading to Celtic. McLeish also had his Scottish national side experience on his CV. Lennon, as far as I know, has only managed at Celtic?

Yeah no doubt Redalert, just look at some of the big name players who've moved to England after dominating in the SPL with mixed success. McDonald, Boyd, Healy, Hooper, Gordon, Larsson.

The Scottish league is ******. I can understand why he'd want to go to England. How much joy could he really get, knowing he will win the league before it even starts? Would get incredibly boring.

Lennon has done pretty much everything there is to do in Scotland, not surprised he is after a new challenge. Many Celtic supporters aren't convinced he is that great a manager and I think he will be found out in England.

It's really hard to know how good he is. Blind freddy could win the league with Celtic. I think if he has any aspirations as a coach, it's the perfect time to move on

norwich are a really attractive club imo. they have little to no debt, they're well run and think of all the cash they have from the premier league.
I just think its a big risk assuming that they'll be promoted back the Premier League, this season was an absolute dogfight between QPR, Wigan and Reading who all ended up in the playoff places despite their comparatively strong squads. There's a very real risk of getting bogged down in the Championship, and from there Lennon's career effectively goes backwards.

Well that's it. Needs to prove himself but I have a feeling he will be another McLeish.

Yeah, I reckon he will be too. Given his squad is easily the best in the SPL, tactics probably won't have been a huge concern for him as he could rely on the quality of his team to get the results needed.

Norwich are taking a bit of a risk IMO, he has had no experience outside of Scotland if they are serious about going for promotion, I'd probably be more inclined to go for an experienced (championship) manager or to see if a former EPL manager could be tempted to drop down a division for the chance to work with a pretty handy squad (by championship standards).
