They were. Prices were in accordance with apparent celebrity-for example, folks from Firefly and Gilmore Girls were 30 bucks/photo, whereas LOTR and GOT actors were 40-50.

My son got a photo with Aquaman, he was beside himself with excitement.

When I was about 10, I managed to get a signed picture of Leif Garrett, who I loved and was def going to marry. I slept with it under my pillow, and used to hold it until I cried. Eventually all the ink wore off it.
