Great fun hey!I went a few years ago we did: England, France, Spain, Italy, Greece/Greek Islands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Netherlands.
My absolute fav was the Greek Islands.
Was that with a tour company?I went a few years ago we did: England, France, Spain, Italy, Greece/Greek Islands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Netherlands.

ever travelled alone?Yeah just Contiki. Loved the tour but I would never do it again. Perhaps a combo of a tour and independent travel if I went over there again.
ever travelled alone?
I'm looking at doing something next year OS and preparing for maybe doing it by myself. I don't do alone well so I'm hesitant on doing something like this by myself. is it something people would recommend?
Love travelling alone. Even more so these days with everyone I know off doing their own thing so it's difficult to arrange a time where your mates have similar schedules or time off that you do. But that said I do well on my own to begin with. It's daunting at first when thinking about it but it eventually gets awesome and I would be happy to travel months on end alone if I could. I stay in hostels most of the time and even though I'm travelling and wandering around within the city alone there's always the communal room in the hostel that I can head back to if I'm wanting a bit of company.ever travelled alone?

somewhere like Thailand, Vietnam or Malaysia to be honest. Places that are warm and have beaches and cheap drinks
NZ's on my list too. Have heard nothing but good thingsAh never been to that area at all. There would be others who could offer advice, maybe make a separate thread. (unless there is already one)
I'm thinking I may go to New Zealand for my next adventure. That'll be a while off tho probably.
You'll be fine, pretty well worn tourist route these days. Still plenty of 'off the beaten track' type places though from what I hear, my gf and her friends have done different trips there and for the most loved it. I love traveling alone, especially as I do prefer the more rough and tumble countries. My partner unfortunately/maybe fortunately came to Nepal with me and wont do anything but western countries for our next trip.somewhere like Thailand, Vietnam or Malaysia to be honest. It's a great way to meet girls/guys too, there'll always be an Aussie or ten in the countries you mentioned so it wouldn't be too daunting. Pick up a Lonely Planet book for SE Asia and have a read.
A lot dirtier than she'd imagined and the hiking wasn't great for her (I loved it). A horrific bus ride to the mountains followed by altitude sickness about 200 metres from the pass we had to get over which resulted in us having to turn around and go back 4 days into the hike. I felt bad for her and was real worried about her health but we were so close to completing it. I will probably go back next year (she doesn't know yet). She did love all the architecture, the food and the people though so it's not like she didn't have a great time. Just not something she wants to do again. What happened that was so bad?

Yeah that sounds like me
I don't do hiking. Am lazy.
You should hook up with my ex bf he would love that shit.
The hiking is what has put me off Nepal so far. I'm just not fit enough, and my knees don't like hills. I did the cheat's version of Macchu Picchu, there was no way I could walk the Inca trail. Just the day at the ruins wrecked my knees for the next three days.A lot dirtier than she'd imagined and the hiking wasn't great for her (I loved it). Depends on where you go, Europe alone can be a blast I was backpacking through hostels and made new friends every night and then joined a few smaller busabout and haggis tours to break things up a bit.ever travelled alone?

Nepal is hard work, I have had friends do Everest base camp and said that you need to do proper training before you go. And even then it doesn't really prepare you for the altitude hit you will take, along with the cold conditions. But absolutely worth it for the views and the new perspective of life you will get visiting the villages along the way.The hiking is what has put me off Nepal so far. I love hill and mountain landscapes, Sa Pa was probably second to Hoi An in Viet Nam. I don't tend to do beaches though. The last time I sat on a beach was four years ago, and it was not exactly tropical sand. (See my av. That shot was taken a days' sail to the north.)
