Watching the U20's Asian Cup Qualifier. Game 1. Aust 7-0 up at half-time against host team Tajikistan.

Got an indication in the early minutes of how much of a tragic mismatch this contest would be when recent Sydney FC A-League Women signing from the NPLW, Skye Halmarick shoulder to shoulder challenged a Tajik defender and the girl spent the next few minutes crying on the pitch. Halmarick has scored 4 of the 7 goals.

Aust GK got to touch the ball once in the first half at the 28th minute mark when the opposition sent it long after the kick-off following the 5th goal.

Not sure if they're going to televise the other matches on Friday and Sunday, but the other opponents in this phase don't seem too much of a challenge. Palestine and Chinese Taipei.

Watching the U 23's vs Philippines in a little tournament in Vietnam called the Serenity Cup which is going on at the same time as the U20's are playing in the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Tajikistan.

Australia leading Philippines 1-0 at half time, scored in the last minute before the break by Alana Jancevski (Melb Victory) who cut out a pass just outside the box and then took it inside and curled one with her left foot along the ground passed the keeper. One of those ones that just go past the diving keeper's hands but just hit inside the post.


Line up has 10 changes from Round 1 where Aust lost the first game to Myanmar 2-1.

Good start against the home team with a goal after 6min. Short corner worked by Leticia McKenna and Gomez and crossed a 2nd time by McKenna with Aiden Keane nipping in front of GK for a headed goal.

Vietnam score 87min to make it 1-2. Nice solo run cut past the defender and shot near post that GK Lincoln stopped it but it rolled under. Probably GK error. Now Vietnam piling on the pressure for an equalizer. Crowd going bananas and commentators getting very animated.

1-0 Australia in the 66th minute. Well deserved. Jancevski picked it up in the midfield passed wide to Keane and Furphy running into the box just got a touch that skewed it to the opposite post. No chance for the GK.

A few minutes earlier Cassidy pinged the crossbar from a freekick just outside the box and Cicco also hit the bar from a long shot.
