Probably lucky that only 3 European teams could qualify for the Olympics. World Cup will be a harder draw with teams like France and Germany getting a look in.

Then there's the teams in our region. North Korea, Japan, South Korea have all given us a hiding at junior level.

We'll probably go up in the rankings too because of this tournament, which might create some unrealistic expectation of where we are at.

Once again, outrageous refereeing. Calling the game having blown the corner cos players were appealing for a penalty/VAR check just seemed spiteful. It's certainly not something a referee would do against the USA, a Scandinavian country, or a shitload of other European and major Asian countries.

We finished 4th but we only won 2 games.

Canada finished 1st but only won 2 games in the tournament in regular time - getting through the knockout phases without creating a goal out of regular play. (Penalty shootout against Brazil, VAR Penalty against USA and VAR Penalty against Sweden to equalize followed by a penalty Shoot out win). Even their goal in the 1-1 draw vs Great Britain in the last game of the group stage was an own goal.
