I have a theory about taberner; he lives in a mario cart world.

in mario cart if you dominate you suddenly get terrible "luck". If you do poorly you suddenly get lots of booster shrooms and great "luck". tabs despite playing terrific will only kick 2 to 3 a game. if tabs plays terrible he will somehow manage to kick 2 or 3.

An enigma. Can kick a bag against strong opposition and then fail against a poor side. Can do amazing things and plain dumb things at the same time. Can hold great marks and drop sitters. Can kick truly or kick into man on mark because of short run up. Around the corner kicks are good as long as he doesnt rush them. No need to rush them from a boundary line. I dont think he will ever change at this late stage.

Well he had a good game vs the crows. Again he kicked 4 goals.

Saying that, Daniel Talia didnt play and he is 197 cm and the crows most experienced and best tall defender.

Would Tabs kicked 4 goals on Talia? Unlikely. Still, he might of kicked a goal or 2 and dragged Talia out on a wing.

His best and worst are almost aligned. He’s playing on after mark on the wing more. Field kicking has improved. Imagine having Treacy and Lobb with Sturt. Tabs will get off the chain and more one on ones is his strength.

Great the club has shown faith in his professionalism and work ethic in that he changed from a ‘WTF’ player, to a contested-marking-beast, goal-kicking power forward!

And that he has shown faith and loyalty in the club when he could have been fielding big offers to go home.

Good work all round! 👍🏽👍🏽
That's beautiful ImP.

This.

If you haven't made your peace with the fact that he is, on occasion, a bit of a space cadet, you're beyond help.

SA must be devastated ;)

Do you know that we're currently averaging just under 15 marks inside 50 per match? (14.8)

Do you know how many West Coast are averaging with Kennedy, Darling, Allen and Ryan? 12.4

Where they are in front of us is efficiency inside 50. We're at 48.9 they're at 53.8. Bulldogs are at 55% with 15.8 marks inside 50.

I'm hoping with Treacy in the team we start to see that efficiency sneak up, as we get more one on one's in better positions.

Would love a heat map of where we are taking the marks inside 50 compared to others, from the eye test we rarely have a player leading directly at the ball carrier and spend a lot of time hitting up targets leading to the pockets. Will have to check how we set up in the F50 for the 6-6-6 compared to the opposition when we come to VIC next.
