I've never been to a bulk billing practice until I move where I am. I've had about 20 blood tests and few genetic tests, a flow cymotery test, a xray and an ultra sound and has cost nothing. Is this normal ? I'm really unfamiliar with medical costs.

Don't mind me asking, why did you have the flow cytometry test ?

I don't understand how that woman was oded on morphine and then lost her kid. Even when I get my B12 injection the person administering it will always get the dose checked by someone else.

Got really prickly eyes when I read that last night, that poor, poor family. Sure whoever wrote it accidentally put an extra 0, but the person getting it and the person administering it should have gone "**** no, anything over 60mg can be fatal, better check this." No doubt it will come out in the investigation but I see a couple of people have already run for the hills.

What happened?

I found with melatonin, they didn't help me get to sleep. But once I did go to sleep, they made sure I stayed asleep. From what I was told, I believe I was taking them too late in the night as well. Which didn't help

Cool as. More talking out loud- ive taken phenergan in the past for hayfever and once in a while for nausea. I know its safe to take too.. but yeah ill talk to my doctor about for sure

I'm just going to post this now. Its something I've struggled with my entire life. And im just so ****ing sick of it being some big secret I need to be ashamed about. Ill still have to use a spoiler tho. Dont click into this if you dont particularly like female parts.

Vaginismus - Wikipedia While I know this isnt exactly life threatening or cancer- so things could be worse- I know that this is basically the underlying cause of my depression. It has caused me nothing but pain, anger, guilt, frustration, shame... basically every negative emotion you can ever think of under the sun. there is nothing positive from this, at all. I think perhaps its pretty much the reason why I wont really go out and try to meet a guy. Because all I keep telling myself over and over in my head is that I'd be just a burden. Sometimes I get extremely down about it and think of doing really dumb things- like... idk hurting myself. But then its like just a fantasy, i could never do that for real. Ok so thats it. Im gonna go off and have a sook now. Please no jokes- i can cop shit but not about this, no way.

How good is Oxicodone?? Haha. I was on it for about 6 weeks years ago. Deliberately got used to some pain so I could quit it early. Could easily see why my doctor warned me of its addictive qualities.
Ive never been on prescribed PKs. Has it got codeine in it?
Don't know if it's got codeine in it (don't think it does) but Oxy is like Codeine on steroids then given a hit of HGH. Had a few epic experiences (recreational) but had to nip that in the bud very quickly because I could see how easy that was going to get out of hand.

Don't think anyone from the Sackler family or Purdue Pharma has done time over unleashing that beast on the world (well not so much the unleashing of it but the big bald faced lie about it's addictive properties).

Fatal Familial Insomnia.

Fatal Familial Insomnia - NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders) (rarediseases.org)

The characteristic symptom in FFI is progressive insomnia. Insomnia often begins during middle age, but it can occur earlier or later in life. Insomnia may first be mild, but it then become progressively worse until an affected individual gets very little sleep. Insomnia usually begins suddenly and can rapidly worsen over the next few months. When sleep is achieved, vivid dreams may occur. The lack of sleep leads to physical and mental deterioration and the disease ultimately progresses to coma and death.

Although insomnia is usually the first symptom, some individuals may present with progressive dementia, in which there are worsening problems with thought, cognition, memory, language, and behavior. Initially, the signs may be subtle and include unintended weight loss, forgetfulness, inattentiveness, problems concentrating, or speech problems. Episodes of confusion or hallucinations can eventually occur.

The sporadic form of FFI, known as sporadic fatal insomnia (SFI), is extremely rare and has only been described in the medical literature in about two dozen people. Collectively, prion disorders affect about 1 person per million people in the general population per year. Genetic prion diseases are believed to make up about 15% of all individuals with prion diseases. Because rare diseases often go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, it is difficult to determine their true frequency in the general population. FFI affects men and women in equal numbers. The average age of onset is 45-50 years old, although the disorder has been described occurring in individuals in their teens and as late as their 70s

They should just rename this condition "hell on earth".

Cause that is what it would feel like.

A guy actually said that on Naked and Afraid. They were srsly sleep deprived because of howler monkeys, but they were also starving and having trouble finding food. He commented the sleep was the more important thing than the food- i tend to agree.

I think the issue with melotonin is your body gets resistant to it after a while, so you can't take it too much or it stops working.

melotonin is produced by the body normally, though there is some concern that if you take too much the body will stop producing it naturally.

current studies suggest that taking melotonin does not affect the bodies ability to produce it on its own and that it is non toxic and not addictive. it does however have side effects and can interact with a variety of other medications, one of which is other sleep aids or sedatives.

to be fair there is still alot of research going on into it as the exact way melatonin helps you fall asleep is still unclear

when I suffered insomnia (3-4hrs Max a night, for years) the only thing that worked for me was melatonin.
You can get the off the shelf up to 5/6mg and that should help.. but as mentioned don’t take it too late at night.
