Toast The media....*Nods Head*

By the way it's curious how I've heard the word gel come out of Ken, Lade and Ollie's mouth in the same week....
Yep
Is this what we've been reduced to, talking 'points' otherwise known as spin. The fact it wasn't mentioned at 11-4 says to me
cop out pure n simple face saving at it's best. As GremioPower said "fess-up" own the situation and treat the fan base with respect.
As hard as this will be to stomach over the off season what confidence can we have if we're 11-4 next year.
A fanciful notion coz I really doubt that we will be. Ken should feel like Turnbull right now. Showed glimpses of promise
only to flatter to deceive. Very steep hill in front of us without a total over haul and the players busted their guts for this.
Thanks Ken.

Yeah and ungrateful was the insinuation. Well at 11-4 there were plenty on here saying we were the worst club to hold 2nd place.
Alarm bells were ringing way back v Brisbane when Polly saved us ,marking on the goal line at the death.
Some on here (me incl) were making noises about missing finals well before 11-4.
We've had our chances but we weren't good enough even with a softish draw.
Tredders in today's paper says "Port fans are filthy"

Not just this year but well before. Wouldn't say 2011/12 as we were crap then but when we got to the finals it started to become obvious we had one game plan that would fall apart with a few changes. The first was the loss of K.Cornes and then Schulz. Recruiting Ryder was one thing but building up reliance on him was a very counter-productive move. In 2013/14 we had a team and then it started to fall apart with what seemed to be the addition of good players to improve some parts of our game but in fact brought a whole change. When we just missed a GF in 2014 our game was nearly perfect and just needed a few tweaks, instead Ken went out and bought a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.
Football is a team game and all that was needed was an improvement on the team we had, instead we have what amounts to a new team and we are taking one step forward but two steps back.

The raw transitional pace of White and Impey, as flawed as they were, hasn't been replaced. Motlop shows it in fits and starts, but his raw attacking instincts seem blunted more often than not. Bonner was clearly expected to make the step up and be that speedy linebreaker in the Houli/Seedsman mould but just hasn't put it together after a promising start to the year.

Monfries' tireless connective work at half-forward remains a gaping hole, too. Aaron Young performed admirably in the role in 2016-17 but lacked consistency, and Sam Gray too often brings things shuddering to a halt with sub-standard field kicking and morale-sapping set shots (isn't alone there).

Poor Stephen Rowe was trying to make a case for the season being salvaged for the crows by them finishing on the same number of wins as Port. Kane said both teams seasons were miserable failures and he just started crying again.

Their end showed hope to come in the future, ours showed pain, lots and lots of pain, stubbon hopeless pain.

That was the role Neade was expected to fill, hence the emphasis on his pressure acts and tackling. But he was never going to be as effective on the lead as Gus and, unfortunately, could not otherwise be as damaging. I am still convinced that had he been played as a crumbing forward or off the HFF, without being a marking target, he would have had a serviceable career. As it is, I think that opportunity has passed.

Lol hope for the future? They beat a half interested Carlton by 100 points and that was with a mis-matched Jenkins kicking 7 goals. Even he admitted they were treating the game as a bit of fun. That's their hope for the future?

Last year we did the equivalent and beat a half interested Gold Coast by 20 goals. How does our future look now?

The simple fact is both team's years were a massive fail regardless of the results in meaningless round 23 games.

I haven't minded Kochie but something still irks me about his comment on AA re everyone thought Ken was a superhero at 11-4

He still is. It's just everything's his kryptonite:

• Geelong
• Essendon
• Showdowns
• West Coast
• GWS
• Carlton in Melbourne
• Optus Stadium
• Tasmania
• Intercept markers
• George Horlin-Smith
• Home ground advantage
• Ruck-themed list management
• Pressure
• Opportunity
• Games decided by <10pts

If it wasn't for all that he'd be the last man standing™ at the end of Avengers 3.

No. If Ken was a superhero at 11-4, then he was making a outstanding job. Koch, probably unintentionally, threw our whole squad under the bus:

"With the material he has to work, being 11-4 was unbelievable. Ken was a superhero!"

Yes both seasons where a fail but their end to the season showed match more promise than ours.

They at least seam to understand the words structure and system.

Wow Kane just read out a very long statement absolutely condemning the Crows management and also commented how rude Fagan was yesterday to the reporter.
He is letting them have it with both barrels.
Also saying Franco’s moving into teaching because Crows won’t let him break his contract.
Made the contrast with How Port have managed things since our embarrassing exit.
He and Blight pretty strong

Hahahaha George Horlin-Smith. He’s literally done nothing since. Amazing.

So we're accessible to the fans and Adelaide aren't. Well, whoop-ti-doo. I wouldn't mind if our club president was Robinson Crusoe if we won a flag.
In fairness and to the point, if the president was Robinson Crusoe we would never win a premiership, a successful club has successful people in all roles, not just on the field.

I actually think Port have done well here from a PR sense at least, get out there say what you need to and move on to rebuilding, the media will be all over the crows from here on in. From a members perspective they have a lot more to do to convince the supporters they are on the right track though, that job is not done.

Rooch having a nice old troll today - listed Kornes at #1 :p

Not finished with this, he tried it again on Thursday night.

"If we are trying to split who was better this year between Port and the Crows, Port had a better percentage but the Crows won more quarters! Stick that in your pipety-pipe and put it in the book Bicety, Bicks!"

Meanwhile Bickley is trying to make the loss of Polly look like the worst thing that has ever happened to either SA club.

Rowie also likes to say "ifs, buts and candy nuts" too. Well here's one for him - if the point that was called a goal was called a point, Port would still have missed the eight but if the Crows had beaten Melbourne in Alice Springs by 91 points they still would have missed the eight!

Funny, as it turns out we're likely to get exactly the same return at the trade table for Polec as the Crows received for Patrick Dangerfield. Unless you count Troy Menzel and Dean Gore.

I actually feel a sense of pity here.

They've gone from being the dominant team in the AFL, going in to a grand final as solid favourites, to being smashed in that gf then not even making the 8 one year later and the messaging is 'at least we're not that much worse than another team that epically failed this year also and is in the same state as us'

It's beyond pathetic and must be infuriating as a tingles supporter.
