GAJ was predominantly a dangerous small forward when he started out and then evolved in to the best player in the comp through the middle. I see no reason why Chad can't follow suit.
Ease his body into it, Chad is 'slight' by midfielder standards (ignoring those who don't have his forward ability) and as he ages and slows down he will bulk up and graduate to midfield. Until then his explosiveness and agility is far more useful up forward.

Wingard is Robbie Gray/Gary Ablett :rainbow: the 2nd coming. He was a dominant midfielder as a junior. Wins the contested ball and clears the ball from the middle as good as any mid/small sized player.

I bet if you asked Chad where he wants to play, I reckon he would say wherever Kenny wants him, but deep down I reckon he wants a midfield gig.
Yeah maybe. He probably won't be satisfied until he masters the mid and a character/talent like his will inevitably achieve this.

But at this stage he's just so dangerous up forward, especially when the opposition rile him.

Remember when Hodge nearly took his head off last year....big mistake Hodgy. That look of "**** you" by Chad after those 2 magic goals was one of the highlights last year (IMO).

It's horses for courses. Most times Chad will be more valuable in the forward line than the midfield for us. He's kicked 43, 43 and 53 goals in the last three seasons. That is not easy to replace. Given we already have huge quality in our midfield, what he adds there is unlikely to be more than we lose by not having him forward. If we had a more shallow midfield, it might be a different story. But that doesn't mean he can't pinch hit there. He almost won us the 2014 PF when Ken moved him to the wing for the last quarter. It's a good dilemma to have really.

His goal kicking is a major part to his game winning ability....

When he was lining for up for the winning goal in the last few seconds in our famous derby win....i was never in doubt he would kick that goal.....over the years I was always 25\75 about kicking to win the game

When it comes to options, we've got an abundance of riches. If we can get lucky with injuries and therefore enjoy having a regular first choice team available, we'll be tough to counter.
Obviously if we have our first team/choice players we are tough to beat.
We need depth obviously. Quality depth.

Shheesh he is always having a go at one other of the teams. Glad it's the other one this time. Then again they did ask for some media attention. He's right though, they are so secretive and the customers accept it happily. I guess a couple of decades of such stuff has brainwashed them into thinking it's a good thing. Oh I love my club NTUAPAFC..

He must be referring to the "Souf Orstrayan Untouchables Licence" that their administration has held for the past 25 years.

It's valid forever except in the previously assumed impossible event that those evil curmudgeons down at Port Power overtake them against all conceivable odds.

Engagement is important and no doubt we do that better than the Crows - but to be fair we do that better than most of the other clubs.

As far as media coverage goes, I've always been of the belief that no news is good news during pre-season. If you do get blanket coverage, its generally something negative (injury, scandal etc). Clearly the Ryder / Monfries situation has kept us in the papaers more than we'd like to be. Then the Dixon surgery.
All nicely offset by re-signing key players mind you...
