The tiser story has a photo of two Port kids playing an X-Box game. I wonder what line the tiser storyteller fed the parents to get their permission for the photo. He wouldn't have said it's for a story on how Port fans waste their dough on video games while crowies give generously to charity. If the storyteller told the truth he would have been shown the door, with a kick up the backside as a farewell.

They were ringins probably. I mean PoOrt PoweRz est 1996 has no money, no players, no coaches, no fitness staff and NO Supporters... o_O

Incorrect. The parents wouldn't miss the opportunity to show off the latest in kid's fashion - Port guernseys.

Also I may be the only Port fan with an iphone.

I would presume they took their data from people who bought memberships with credit cards, or maybe through BPAY. Each club would have its own particular code or identifying feature in the data that make it easy for the bank to track whose paid membership aligns with what club.
It may be something like that but still a very tenuous link.

... this study has been completed by the NAB based on their data only so a fairly narrow view.
The assumptions based on this data are very questionable.

Roy Morgan carries out similar research on AFL supporters every year based on a random sample of the Australian population. The sample for last year's survey was 38,675 people over the age of 14. They use this to extrapolate total number of supporters for each club and supporter profiles similar to those compiled by the NAB but at least their sample isn't limited to NAB credit card customers.

Where the hell does he say "We have never been better", don't put arrogant words into a humble persons mouth. Leave the comments like "we're the best team EVARRR" to the crows.

For the last couple of weeks, every time anyone interviews any of our players or coaches they have tried to get them to talk up our finals chances (set us up for a fall) and none of them would. Now they are just doing it for them.

The good thing is that everyone at the club is obviously on the same page about how to deal with these questions. In the past we quite often had players, and we had Choco  , who would oblige and say something arrogant.

If you watch the PTV videos of press conferences, you can clearly see/hear journalists who have already written an article and looking for a sound bite to agree with their POV.

Capel is the king of this. His "Butcher = Gumbleton" article was a prime example.

PATRICK DANGERFIELD

Grange

Following a disappointing loss to rivals Port Power, Crows player Patrick Dangerfield was seen drowning his sorrows in a sandwich at the House Cafe and Bakery in Grange last Monday.

I bet he bit through that sandwich though. No gears, no holding back. Chomp chomp chomp it was gone. It's lucky he has the genes and upbringing to really bite into a sandwich and not give it a chance to bite back. I bet other diners went up to him after and told him he really took that sandwich on and they were in awe of his bravery. No fear of the crusty bread.
