Alastair Clarkson for the third consecutive comment on his likelihood of staying at Hawthorn was emphatic at the post premiership celebrations, stating how much he was looking forward to coming back next year and doing this all again for the Hawks.

Channel 7 reported this as 'Clarkson remained non-committal on his prospects of moving to Adelaide next year' :D

They tried to link Hawthorn assistant Brendon Boyce to the job on the basis of him saying that you needed to do a long, strong apprenticeship before taking on a top coaching role. It sounded more like he was ruling himself out as not ready. Besides he's having too much fun at Hawthorn right now.

It's annoying Stuart Dew is going to end up with the job and it's going to burn him.
What are the odds of them playing it safe with one of their own in Bassett instead of the best option in Dew? It's a boys club there & 9 times out of 10 they'll appoint an ex Camry over anyone who's been associated with the PAFC.

i hate bassett with a passion but his coaching credentials far out weigh those of dew. not sure where all this dew love comes from to be honest, hes only ever been an assistant.

He also coaches a brand of football that makes Paul Roos' boring gameplan look exciting, the last thing the AFL need is Bassett, Lyon & Roos all coaching AFL sides when they're trying to encourage clubs to play attractive footy.

Stuart Dew's wife Sarah is on TV. Wonder if she wont's to leave that and go to Adelaide...
Believe Sarah studied at UniSA, think her family is here as well. It isn't like she had to look Adelaide up on a map. TV being what it is she'd be a bigger fish in a much smaller pond. A Crows connection would guarantee one of the three commercial networks would make a space for her on their local news team.

agree with this. boring footy but won the SANFL, but Bassett has at least built up a (SANFL) squad on his own, developed kids to AFL (draft-able) standard, and influenced a club culture. ticks a few of the Cows boxes.

Yep & Warrens 'Bass' playbook of parking the bus in the 4th qtr in the SANFL GF to me is not playing footy in the right spirit of the game, the gameplan & vision Ken has for the PAFC is one reason we play one of the most attractive brands of footy & are most supporters 2nd favourite team.

If you want to see what type of Cwaigy-esque gameplan Bass will play just look at the Bummers game against us where you'd be forgiven for thinking Bomber let Neil & Fred take over for the night because that was superfood at it's best.

NUFC, YES.
Well, we did the same a few years ago - and I must admit to losing patience with the search... And look where that got us.
Williams (club record 9-game losing streak) and Primus (coming off contract, tonked by GWS - in their first year) were both dead men walking.

Sanderson, while a mediocre coach who drowned in the expectation created by that first year, would've reasonably expected to go into 2015 under the pump, but given every chance to succeed.

It's the right decision from the the rumblings you hear about Sanderson regardless, did anyone see sando & buckley in the special the other night
Yeah maybe there's behind the scenes stuff we don't know about. Oh well: whatever their problems are, (in the words of Basil Fawlty) let's hope they're nothing trivial :)

That's still a massive backwards step in a career she's been steadily building over the past seven years.

At the very least it's putting her career on hold.

Melbourne would be different...
