**** Walsh.

When he fails as a senior coach at soulless franchise, I hope he doesn't come crawling back. And if he does come crawling back to Alberton, I hope he's escorted out to the bins and told to wait for his ride.
Cmon mate, its a business and he's only doing the same as anyone else who has ambitions. Personally I wish him well and would welcome him back in a flash

My morning ritual is to read the paper over breakfast - not because I think it's worth reading, but because it gives me something to do and gets my brain into gear. I think "Hey, I'll be able to read that interview with Paddy this morning."

Then I turn to the back page...and there's Patrick..Dangerfield, smiling like an idiot, looking like a flashlight thanks to his white skin after spending 10 days in Queensland.

One thing did amuse me though, and I quote, "He's obviously a busy man and I don't know how much sleep he's had"...referring to Phil Walsh's conversation with him on Wednesday. No Paddycakes, that's his gruff demeanor all the time.

Gold. Heard Walsh on AA on Wed morning talking with Reilly / Aiston / Penberthy. He treated them with disdain, it was awesome. By the end they were dead set scared of him I swear to the point that Aiston apologised ahead of asking a question. It is going to be some quality listening / viewing of the Adel media sycophants with Walsh in the chair.

I reckon Walsh was put through a bit of media training by the club during the year. Taking people out of their comfort zones seems to have been a real part of the KT and Kochie era at Port. Westhoff gets thrown in front of the cameras a lot. And while still not a great media performer, he's improved. And that added confidence has flown on into his football.
I think we did the same with Walsh. He hated doing media, so we made him do media. He's essentially been trained up in the new era Port Adelaide way and that's going to be quite a shock for a few of these crow sycophants and the local media.

Seemed to certainly treat Jane with disdain - every time she asked him about how he would deal with PAFC or how his relationship was with them now, he brushed her off with a "I'm 100% Cows now" or "Not fussed - they're the enemy now" type of response :(

Thanks for the 12 months at Port, Phil. The club won't be getting any Xmas cards from him anytime soon.

Can someone correct me, but didn't we slip from a near top clearance/stoppage team in 2013 to mid table one this year? Would that indicate that our midfield strategies were not working that well (conceding a high % of goals from stoppages) and that it was our full court pressure that caused opposition turnovers? In that case, if we got a different midfield coach to pair up with Carr, we may improve even more?

How will Paddycakes cope if he's told to curb the half-assed comedian routine & knuckle down

I was a little suprised to hear Walsh drop the names of potential assistant coaches at his first press conference, like Glass and Lade. There's no risk in dropping names if you've got signatures on pieces of paper but I didn't get that impression. You don't want to give opposition clubs any hint of people you're chasing.

Think Lades still has 1 year at the Tigers. Rowe was painting as a certainty to be there in 2016 didn't think Lade needs that going around with 12 months on a contract with the Tigers still to run.

What! No more Ace Ventura impersonations?
Aren't those "impersonations" cringe-worthy?

Embarrassing to say the least, just illustrates what a huge ego the man has....you don't have to have a long neck to be a goose.

lol at Rucci's usual over the top dramatics describing Walsh's recruiting as a black ops raid. More like tapping up an opposition club's contracted staff.
Its all starting to make sense. Roo listens to advice.

When Roo came on board he asked everyone around him what Trigg had been working on. The unanimous reply was fagan knows. He gets Fagan.

Once they sacked the Sando but failed to land Clarkson, he again asked those around him for advice on the best way to cover up the hole they dug themselves in. Again the advice was unanimous, landfill.
He lands Phil.

Yeah I know. :$

Let's hope he isn't seeing danger signs any time soon...
