Cmon mate, its a business and he's only doing the same as anyone else who has ambitions. Personally I wish him well and would welcome him back in a flash
I stand by my comment. **** Phil Walsh.
Money's more important to him then being part of a team that builds success from the ground up.

We will see how much of a slimy weasel he is come the preseason and round 1.

i hate the crows too but this isnt fair

Why would anyone begrudge a guy from taking a SENIOR coaching job, for which there are only 18 (and only 2/3 per year) when he is 54 years old and most likely be the only chance he will ever get.

Yes it sucks we lose another assistant... but we will survive and move on

Its all starting to make sense. Roo listens to advice.

When Roo came on board he asked everyone around him what Trigg had been working on. The unanimous reply was fagan knows. He gets Fagan.

Once they sacked the Sando but failed to land Clarkson, he again asked those around him for advice on the best way to cover up the hole they dug themselves in. Again the advice was unanimous, landfill.
He lands Phil.

Nah - we will be spurred into being BETTER!
Gutted a few days ago - moved on from that and can sense opportunity beckoning.
Need to move swiftly though so we don't miss the boat re-replacements for Fab Phil......

Yeah I agree, but I think it is very poor that Walsh and the crows were having talks mid- season. Maybe his values were not that different to that of the club he despised?

Also seems sure that if they were talking to Walsh mid season then they were sounding out others at the same time.

Rucci calls it 'black ops' but if Adelaide ever had anyone decent enough to poach and another club did this - there would be calls to reintroduce the death penalty.

x2. Look at some other teams and who they have for coaches and assistants, all from us. Alistair Clarkson and Damien Hardwick are senior coaches. Mark Williams has been a journeyman assistant. The late Dean Bailey was a senior coach at Melbourne and assistant at the cows. Lade, Montgomery, Stevens at Glenelg, probably a few I've forgotten. The Richardson defection last year was into the pre-season but we still bounced back from that.

You can add Dew, Kingsley, Mahoney and Primus to that

Gold. Heard Walsh on AA on Wed morning talking with Reilly / Aiston / Penberthy. He treated them with disdain, it was awesome. By the end they were dead set scared of him I swear to the point that Aiston apologised ahead of asking a question. It is going to be some quality listening / viewing of the Adel media sycophants with Walsh in the chair.
sadly i think thats just what the crows need, a tougher bloke who wont sit there and play along with a bunch of giggly clowns in the adelaide media. wish they went for that guy smiley bloke from hawthorn who would grin and play right into the adoring floggos hands.

Thank you. All the best to Walsh, although I no longer want to see him succeed, I thank him for what he contributed to our club and couldn't blame him for his decision at all. Said this in the other thread - this couldn't have come at a better time. 3 coaches sacked, 2 of them have been proven assistant coaches off the top of my head, all 3 have been discussed to be somewhat controversial and unfair - ALL 3 with previous experience with Hinkley, therefore we already have amazing insider knowledge as to which of the 3 would be the best suited to the club (that cannot be emphasized enough). Assistant coaches at Bulldogs strongly rumored to be on the way out - who Hinkley has had working relationships with in the past.

We couldn't be any luckier in that regard. We can pick any of these guys and I could guarantee you if they want to continue in the AFL, they wouldn't hesitate to come to a team that is looking like strong premiership favourites over the upcoming years.

Hahaha.....Note, he's even got a Go-Pro camera on the front of his surfboard...to film himself surfing.

His ego is the size of an African country and the crowtiser encourages him.

But there's no chance of [Patrick Dangerfield]'s ego getting out of control. "You're not allowed to have a big head in this family," Janette [Patrick's mother] said. "The whole family gives each other too much crap to ever get a big head."
