The reason for this is simple. They don’t understand how the game could be played the way that Richmond did this year, so they think it’s just a trick and it will be “found out” by teams playing the only way they understand.
In short, they want Essendon to do well and Port to suck because if it goes the other way it will mean they know absolutely nothing about modern football.
Which they don’t.
