Lol TDrop up at the Gold Coast "covering" the Crows training camp. Do we need more evidence he's on the payroll of both Ch 7 and the AFC?
May their trip be as successful as the pre Grand Final one..

I think you are putting a little too much weighting on the AFLW. It fills a dead spot in the calender (sic) when there is **** all on. Tennis and cricket are finished and footy hasn't started. I suspect the AFLX will cannibalize a fair bit of their thunder.
I guess you haven't been watching the TV and reading the newspapers lately? It's all about the Crows' teams!

All publicity is good publicity -- if no one has ever heard of you. Alan Sorensen, an economics professor at Stanford determined that, even when reviews were negative, it created a one-third bump in sales.....read memberships.

Yeah, that doesn't really apply to sports teams, just look at the tarp era death spiral.

I swear most Crowbots only hate Kane because he used to play for Port, isn't one of their ambassadors and actually reports beyond their press releases, and is actually right sometimes, like when he reported that the Crows were still chasing Gibbs despite the club publicly denying it.

You could see through last year he was being used more and more, and groomed for a bigger role in the media. Some here dont like him either, but I reckon he is better than most of the idiots commentating & calling footy!

Kane is still a 300 game premiership player and 2x All Australian, vs. Random Johnny Loser who has played precisely zero AFL games
Kane is a knob, but he rustles the jimmies of the Clown supporters pretty hard, so it's quite amusing from that point of view. They can't handle Rucci and they can't handle him. Both are both pretty big players in the football media here and the non sycophantic Crow media is getting larger. Croc Media aren't the Adelaide media and Hutchy loves controversy. He doesn't care who he pisses off in this one horse town. He's tearing up the Adelaide media rule book.

This is great, rare, and long overdue. A true Port man on Melbourne radio.

A few weeks ago I saw some dickhead rack up abundant likes, loves and hahas for saying something akin to, "just like you couldn't get a kick in the 2007 Grand Final, Kane".

He literally had the most touches of all 44 players who took the field that day and won All-Australian and B&F honours that year.

At a time when we've never had fingertip access to literally all the information. Yikes.

Very very happy for him. This is great news. Finally a Port boy through and through is breaking through the SA bubble and having Victorian reach. More than could be said for the geriatric crow meatbags that line up for (and get) jobs that they are absolutely garbage at.

Yeah but let's not kid ourselves that the Cornes name and connections isn't what's getting him these gigs. If he was Kane Cornes the ex Port Adelaide player rather than Kane Cornes son of Glenelg legend and Adelaide Crows coach Graham, he'd be maxing out as a newsreader/local special comments guy ala Tredders.

Sure, a little, but I really don't think Hutchy gives a shit about who Graham Cornes is.

Not sure why Kane getting a gig on Melbourne radio is a * shakes head* moment. I don't pay much attention to what he has to say but he seems to be far more balanced than most in the AFL media.
It will be interesting. He'll have to steer clear of talking about the SA teams too much or they'll switch off. He hasn't been shy of making controversial statements, isn't part of the Malbun boys club, so it will be interesting to see how he goes.

He did some guest spots on Fox Footy when he first bailed on the help me & hose trade and won rave reviews for his eloquence, insight and penchant for calling things as he saw them without fear or favour.

As much as I love big Warmachine, he's never struck me as anything more than 90% vanilla-scented talking head/10% clubland/technical insight that goes over the heads of Merle & June.

He was great on Trade Radio and demonstrated a good grasp of goings on all around the AFL.
Anyway, I believe the addition of Kane Corner is an early shot in Hutchy getting SEN back into Adelaide. He wants to do it right this time using local and/or national personalities like Whateley instead of shoe horning a bunch of Melbourne cliquesters into the local market.

I enjoy Kane's take on football. Sure he grandstands now and again but he's his old man's son and all journos do it, and usually more than Kane.

He makes the Victorian old boy's network uncomfortable on the Sunday Footy Show, especially that spiv Tony Jones the Juddstalker. He's worth it for that alone.

Well that and rustling the crows jimmies, which he truly seems to enjoy ;)

Tony Jones is unparalleled as the worst television personality in world sport.

Anyone remember the mileage he tried to get out of the feral cat that came out of the footy park drains during that crows NAB Cup final he was boundary riding?

“Lol boys, a feral cat in Adelaide of all places. Lol ferals.....”

His attempt at lining up Tom Jonas was as good as his attempt to land a smooch on Rebecca Judd's cheek.
