I reckon they deliberately make errors to try and get under our skin. It happens far to often to be a coincidence.

Re- all this blarney about runners on the ground, why dont the AFL let teams have 8 or 10 runners. At goal breals they all sprint onto the ground and give messages to every player, then get off before the 45 second window closes.

No runners on the field once play resumes. Messages all delivered. Problem solved!

Just adapt from the current system with juniors. Have all the players' dads move around the ground to at stoppages to be where their sons are and shout out individual instructions to them. Also to tell them to lift their %^&$* game.
Not sure who fills this role in AFLW games.

It's hilarious (in a black humour way), with the AFL going all in on the female demographic with making AFL execs having consenting relationships with female staff members resign, that they can without shame support, if not outright laud, an admitted guilty thug who actually committed a crime.
