Re: Disgraceful Headline

The club should just do a blackout to the media apart from anything they're contracted to do. Especially that weasel Shuttleworth, and Aiston too.

I think the Port hierarchy have had enough as well. Brett Duncanson was on the 5bouble crow sportshow yesterday and I didn't catch all of it but I distinctly remember him saying that the club was no longer going to accept anyone from the media trashing the brand. This was in reference to cornes's article in the advertiser yesterday about Choco. Good on Brett and I hope they come down hard on these weasel's.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

The article says a lot more about the authors and their agendas than it does about the PAFC.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

The SANFL clubs are already unhappy about the limit of 8 interstate players allowed on club lists from 2011. South and West already have 7 imports.

Clubs slam import rule

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Ok this might sound even more wacky than a dyertribe soliloquy (which I'm not knocking, they are always entertaining), but perhaps the club should try to poach Rucci as its media manager.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Sit and rotate.

The SANFL clubs have bled SA football for far too long. It's an embarrassment the AFL has had to step in to force change.

Anyone happen to hear the Crows supporting woman who rang the Sunday Roast today? She was part of a group of Crows supporters called 'Please Save AAMI Stadium - Home of the Crows'. They have a Facebook page and a petition signing outside Crows home games. And unless i heard her wrong they also have the support of Stephen Trigg.

Essentially their opposition to the Adelaide Oval move is because of its threat to their pre-game BBQ's. Hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

Oh South Australia. Sometimes you make me weep.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Speaking of disgraceful headlines Did anyone see adelaide now yesterday morning. With the headlines Port Choke in Choco finale. Found that totally puzzling seeing we were $5.75 outsiders

Well not everyone wants footy to move from Footy Park

Im not surprised by that or any other negative headline/article we will receive for the next few days... while we as a club are down in playing personal, confidence etc.. they (the media in general) will sink the boots in as much & as often as they can.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Why not? Its a terrible stadium that is way to far out of the city, best thing for footy in this state is to move away from AAMI, to either AO or a new stadium (which isn't gonna happen)

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Going to be funny in the Crowtiser tomorrow with POWER all over the front page. Thunderbirds won the Grand Final and it was wonderful to see the POWER on everything they wore.

Totally agree Footy at AO would be great for me I don't drive and I have both bus and tram option but I would say there would be a lot that don't want footy away from Footy Park.

I still maintain what I said on the Crows board that without private funding this will never happen. That's just my feelings on the issue

That's right. Not everyone does, clearly. But most do. Most can see the dank, windswept, remote shithole of Football Park for what it is. Most can see the benefits a city stadium would bring to football and the city of Adelaide as a whole. Most of us.

Unfortunately Beryl and her bridge club see more importance in spending their winter afternoons eating processed lips and arses out of the boot of a Toyota Cressida than what's in the best interests of the rest of us.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Speaking of disgraceful headlines, today's bAdvertiser front page rediscovers irony and manages to have a serious dig at us at the same time.

Would it have been that %^*&ing difficult to use "They've got the Power to win" instead of quoting the theme of our major competition over the top of our brand and logo and basically sh*tting on our investment as best they can ? Watch for the Crows outbidding us for T-Birds sponsorship next time around, assuming the SANFL drones in our midst don't kybosh us even trying to renew the deal in order to drive the price down for their favoured franchise.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Yeah you know what? I'm cancelling my subscription. Sick of The Addy.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Cancelled by sub a few years back. I was (am) sick of their biased cow loving drivel they have the gall to call journalism is this state. If only there was another paper to try to get some balance on issues here :-(

Re: Disgraceful Headline

And the disgraceful headlines continue. It's possible that it's unintentional and really just horribly lazy journalism, but serioulsy, if that was the case, how stupid do you have to be to come up with that headline? Obviously the crows sponsor the thunderbirds.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

except that headline is as much about slagging the Crows off as anything. By using "Power to Win" it means nothing, by using The Pride of SA its a none to subtle dig at both the PAFC and the AFC that the blokes in this town are shit and if you want it done right leave it up to the girls.

They create a headline that riles both sides of the aisle. The best thing about my Holden is that its not a Ford.

Re: Disgraceful Headline

I think you guys read too much into it, one look through that whole paper and the website and misleading headlines are it's forte. Ie "Cop shot in critical condition in botched robbery" so you go oh shit where was this seeing it's adelaidenow you are thinking that's a huge story, then you click and open the page "In southwest district of columbia a man has shot a policeman after a botched hold up attempt of a roadside hotdog vendor..."

What shits me is the articles, they lose 6 in a row, after 2 in a row they are getting daily articles begging people to rock up, we lose them nothing just telling us that we are playing football no one wants to watch and to sack the coach.

Bollocks to the first bit. If they had used "Power to Win" our marketing people would be absolutely over the moon and your board would be having a good old sook. I bet at west lakes your marketing are quietly laughing their heads off at it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting for a minute that your lot would be unprofessional enough to crow about it publicly (geez I nearly left an 'l' out there!). Agree though, the girls have got the runs on the board unlike some

Re: Disgraceful Headline

Thats my point, its not about making Port's marketing department 'over the moon' its about pissing both AFL Clubs off and pointing out their failings.

Anyone who looks at that headline and thinks its come up with by a Crows loving Editor keen on pumping up the Crows is deluded.

I actually took that headline and accompanying picture (the Subscriber Edition) as a clear sledge at the Adelaide Football Club, "The Pride of South Australia", and not at Port at all.

The standard of journalism in the 'Tiser continues to be very, very low.

Andrew Capel in Saturday's edition (page 115) once again showed that he is a complete arseclown with no journalistic integrity at all when he wrote of the Port Adelaide Football Club, "the club is in the biggest horror patch of its 14-year history".

That would be why this year we celebrated our 140-year history.
