An AFL player dropping down a league kicks better is a long way from impressing me, but we are putting up impressive disposal efficiency stats. Taberner practicing his specialist skill is what I expect.

Our win last week was based around effort and pressure, and I was pleased to see that back.
There was plenty of heart last week.

Effort and pressure were important but I think you are underestimating a few things.

Game day coaching was important, I think. We seemed to go out there with a plan to stop Collingwood getting out of the blocks well, and that worked and kept us in the game, when a lot of other teams have been facing a big deficit by quarter time. The use of Lobb in the last quarter kept Grundy under wraps, and the use of Fyfe forward let Tabs off the leash. Fyfe in the forward line has contributed well to 2 wins so far.

Yep, it was finger nail deep analysis.

Underestimating? I just didn't mention them. But we can still win that game and use Lobb or Fyfe in different ways (good decisions though). I don't think we win it without the pressure.

Did anyone else see this? 🤔
7 AA players plus a Norm Smith, is it any wonder that they have had the wood on us?
How do replace NN, Kennedy, Hurn?
Freo have Fyfe, Walters, but you can see another 3or 4 that could be in contention soon.

alex pearce, hayden young, luke ryan and perhaps wilson and logue may be AA in the next 5 years
serong and brayshaw may be AA in next 5 years
sturt and henry may be AA in next 5 years imagine if tabs becomes an AA we can only dream

awesome stuff

Watch from 5.15 on. Sam is telling Worpel that he could run on and maybe even take on the guy on the mark instead of going back for his kick. Worpels response is that he could do that from now on and "especially this week".
Very interesting response in my opinion. You could easily read into this one that Worpel and the Hawks don't expect Freo to be as hard as other teams to compete against.

Except they were reviewing against Sydney who they played 2 weeks ago, and their next opponent was Carlton.

Also likely a reference to dimensions of the ground I'd imagine.

Worsfold and stuff
‘Freo silly not to look at Eagles Legend’

If he wants a job in the AFL after moving home, I’d be very surprised if there was one at WC, except maybe in marketing.

He’d be silly not to approach Fremantle about a job to remain in coaching. I hope we don’t appoint him because he’s ‘John Worsfold’, but we legitimately have a role for him that JLo is comfortable with.

If players are allowed to practice a skill (kicking) for 15 minutes after each training session and they train three times a week, that’s 45 minutes a week, times that over the preseason and during the season and it adds up.

The problem with Ross is that he wouldn’t let them practice because S&C told him players were only allowed to train x amount of minutes a week and anything above would increase the chance of injury. Ross allocated those minutes in effort based exercises.

I heard Worsfold speak during a function at the 2019 WAFL Grand Final and he was very upfront about wanting to stay involved in the AFL once he returned to Perth after finishing at Essendon this year.

From that it would be a good bet one of the WA teams would have a position available for him in 2021.

His experience and knowledge would be very valuable in the right role at Freo.
