Not sure why I'm watching it, because FootyWA generally gets under my skin.
I get Cummings being Eagles biased, but what is it with Watters? When giving the votes for the Freo game, they justified not giving Fyfe top votes by criticising him for butchering the ball.
Do these guys get paid for parroting a predetermined narrative? Did they watch the game? Fyfe had 30 disposals with 90% efficiency. He had the most scoring involvments (12) in the game, two more than the next best.

Fyfe barely missed a target and was sensational kicking it inside 50.

This was votes for FootWA's WA Player of the Year award.
They gave the following votes for the Freo players , Neale 5, Fyfe 4, Mundy 3, Langdon 2, Blakely 1.

I didn't have a major problem with Neale getting the 5 and Fyfe getting the 4 (although I would have given Fyfe 5).
But having to endure Baz's commentary in the Sydney vs Slime game on the Friday night, I may have been a little over sensitive to Slime Fluffers.
It is just the fact that after commending Neale for his game, they then criticise him by saying he doesn't hurt you enough and for a midfielder that gets the ball so much, and you don't actually notice him, followed by their criticism about Fyfe butchering the ball.
There's no such criticisms of Yeo who had about 15 of his kicks (bombs forward) end up in the hands of Sydney players and rebounded back ... but nor should there be, because Yeo still played a good game and got the Slime back in it in the second half with two great goals from the 50m. My point is, I can easily pick out faults about Slime players too, as I've just done here, but I wouldn't do it on a public show which is supposed to evenly support both WA football teams.

I just get sick of the continual Freo bashing.

Settle, settle, settle, …………… yes this a major peeve, but it aint gunna change. Years ago I learnt when this occurs, take a BEX and have a good lay down.

They heap all their love juices on Tom ( 20 metre ) Mitchell, but fail to see Lachie nail a 40 metre pass. Basil must have some interesting photos of 7 management ….

Winners are grinners …...

Yeah, I should know better by now.

But having to hear Cummings then carry on about the umpiring and showing some of the easy Frees Buddy got and saying "Oh, everybody's complaining that West Coast get Free Kicks at Optus stadium." ... even trying to make a case for that third Buddy free when McGovern was off the field and I think it was Shephard who obviously held Buddy's left arm in the marking contest. I agree the first two Frees were soft, but don't make yourself look like a goose by dismissing the West Coast free kicks and then carry on about what was a correctly given free kick. Watters even had to butt in at that point.
The sad thing is, Cummings only looks like a goose to the minority of viewers, most are likely fans suffering from Slime Entitlement Syndrome and totally agreeing with him.

Now ... off soapbox I climb, swallow BEX and catnap time.

I don't mind Cummings but...

He has a face for radio...
A voice for print...
And a professionalism for social media...

Needs to stick to Twitter.

Footy_WA is pretty bloody cringeworthy.

I you are wondering whether to shell out for foxfooty.... tonights 360 might put any hopes to bed. Another bare mention in the review of "the carlton game" that took place on the weekend. Even in a bye round they cant bring themselves to spend even 30% of the review time addressing us. I am not going to sit through it again to check but I am pretty sure they did not mention a single freo player by name. We get less airtime on 360 than melbourne storm and only slightly more than the Columbus Bluejackets.

The summary of every Freo game generally goes like this;
Luke Darcy: "Do you think Fyfe is back to his Brownlow best?"
Wayne Carey: "Yeah, probably."
Darcy: "Anyway, onto Carlton/Essendon/Bulldogs..."

Yeah,I agree
I seldom watch vfl 360 for obvious reasons
To be fair though the insipid display by Carlton was the story Saturday
They were putrid
Unfortunately if you wanna watch your team live every week and other worthy games you have to have fox,
Either that or watch it on your phone

3 out of 12 Tipsters in the Age went for Carlton to beat Fremantle narrowly. 3 out of 11, I suppose you can't count Judd as he must be tipping Carlton each week. Did see that Whately was one who tipped Carlton to "win big" on the AFL nation site.

Edit: Should be: 9 out of 12, or 8 out of 11 Tipped Carlton.

There was also the story that Freo have seemed leadfooted in a lengthy rebuild without a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. Freo who have been trying to rebuild but with a handful of +30yo players in the side now look to be finding direction. Freo who on the weekend gave a ton of game time to a massive cohort of young players who seem to be pulling together and reaching a bit of a critical mass. Given the last few weeks, we can finally point at a group of players and say that they are the main group that will be driving the team in 3 to 5 years. There is also a bit of analysis about Freo changing strategy at half time and putting midfield time into the kids, trying players in innovative positions... resulting in Mad Dog Ryan's first ever goal.

If it had been a rebuilding Vic team belting us, those would have been the story threads.

Round 5 Eagles beat Carlton by 10 points = "Eagles break MCG hoodoo with impressive win on the road against Carlton."

Round 13 Fremantle beat Carlton by 57 points = "Fremantle finally gets a win on the road, albeit against a very poor, lowly ranked Carlton side."
Who cares Harry, we are getting rave reviews from the wise men from the East about our recruiting.
Same thing happened in 2013.
The future is for those that plan for it.

I'm not so sure Fremantle even gets mentioned in the second story though. Possibly something more like: "Are Carlton the worst AFL team in history?" Then a full column analysing all the things they are bad at and how all other AFL teams should smash them by 100+ points. Then there'd be a little footnote mentioning we only managed to beat them by 59 points.
