We are really in trouble when we are being criticised by Cummings and Watter, such experts!!!!Can they really not find anyone in the state with better credentials?
Watters? Maybe he should coach one of Lyon's teams and see how he goes...oh

You can't call for a more attacking gameplan with a rebuilding team unless you are willing to wear the absolute poleaxings you receive occasionally when open your defense up more to score more.

Based on this board, I'd say there would be zero tolerance for that as well.
We're getting poleaxed anyway.

Would rather we took the game on more and had a balance of attack and defence and get flogged than have 18 players living in the opposition forward line and still getting flogged.

Easy to say.

There is no doubt in my mind that no matter what happened, who was coach, how they played people here would find plenty or rationale and completely irrational things to whinge about.

Edit: If you don't believe me I challenge you to find me a group of supporters on BF that aren't irrationally bashing their coach every time they lose a game they weren't absolute outsiders for. I suspect Richmond are fairly harmonious at the moment but no doubt they find something to complain about.

For example, Carlton should start every game as rank outsiders this season because they have an awful list. Guarantee that doesn't stop the melts every time they get beaten.

You're just hiding behind your love for our current coach.

No one would begrudge a team that has a crack. No one. But a team that just puts the white flag up...???

We're back being a laughing stock of the competition not because we're losing but because of the way we play. We all hate the narrative of Ross Lyon being a purely defensive coach, can't rebuild and blaming him alone for the flooding and poor standards of the modern game, but after the weekend, who can blame anyone for thinking that? Why wouldn't he just gave a crack at scoring. He had a chance to prove the doubters wrong but instead he fully validated all of the critics opinions. Was he perhaps warned about a repeat of the record breaking floggings that he took us through last year? Or is as stubborn as rumoured?

Ross mayve taken us to the high point in our history (albeit without having the capabilities to summit) but he's also taken us right back down to where we were well before he arrived. Maybe even deeper because it's him at the helm?

See my edit.

I really don't care if they sack Ross or not. Getting a new coach is all shiny and new like draftees and I think most of us like that sort of thing (I do). But it is not going to change anything in the short term except all the melters will have optimism based on the grass being greener.

We have been more attacking though. Saturday was an anomaly but that was more due to our own players than anything structural. We couldn't get clean possession, couldn't stick tackles, and Melbourne just kept getting forward 50 entry after forward 50 entry. With all the play in Melbourne's front half that is inevitably where most players on the field will be. Even against Brisbane we weren't that defensive. The problem in that game was our skills were piss poor more than anything. That was then compounded by getting hammered in the center clearances.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

If you have all your weapons in place, attack.

If you are down men, if you attack, they will ping the ball back over your head.

What is the best thing to do if you don’t have your weapons ?. I would stand your ground and try to counter attack.

All the armchair critics ( Watters, Cummings & 90% of BF ), would love us to attack, then whinge about the 100 point thumping !!!.

Hey since when did Watters & Cummings have any credibility with coaching ?.

West Coast supporters melt down when they don't win the free kick count by more than 10. Doesn't every BF board have a sack the coach thread?

Amazing that Hardie would report that Freo would jeopardize the health and future playing career of one of our best young players just to get back at Hagdorn and his miss reporting. Shows how disturbed Hardie is . The media needs to distance themselves from him ,he seriously needs help.
Salim, which player did Hardie say that about?

dunno why people bother about listening to this garbage
Im a 91.3 sports FM listener in the mornings now,
brekky show is a winner
I need to change. Listening to the vitriolic tirades gets me off to a bad day. And they seem to have encouraged the nastiest people to ring them. I wonder how the club can survive this negativity.

I’ve stopped listening. Have enough people at work to give me grief about Freo without hearing it first thing from the radio too.

They have no credentials except that they are bitter and twisted.

I believe it was Alex Pearce
Alex was passed fit to play. Didn't notice that his thumb caused him any trouble? Poor journalists looking after another poor journalist, who fabricated a story. Hardie- Never coached, always clashed with coaches , remember Footscray days. Watters- Moved from club to club. Sacked from St Kilda before he ruined the place beyond repair. I rest my case. Wouldn't take any notice of anything they say.

Jeez the treatment of Bennell, Shane (rip) compared to the young rookie fella from the Toast just scream hypocrisy!
The WA media are a f**king disgrace!
Personally I hope they have learned from their mistakes rather than having a bias to one team when it comes to negative reporting, but given the Nizzy led influence on the big end of town I'm probably being naive.

I’d say defInitely the Nisbett influence. Sadly not much has changed since the media happily swept the Cousins’ issues under the carpet for half a decade.

100% correct that the Eagles are playing the "indigenous player with mental health issues" card here, which effectively says to the media that " Back-off as we don't want another Shane Yarran situation."

So far the club and the police are refusing to give out the results of the breath test which he no-doubt underwent following on from the accident, however the club has issued a statement saying that he broke team protocol by drinking on Sunday night and as such has been dropped to East Perth for this weeks game.

Then as Brad Hardie asked on radio this morning, "So why was he dropped from playing the week before then?"

Then Hardie yesterday had the audacity to mention the fact that we took Josh Simpson with pick 17 when Brodie Grundy went at pick 18 back in 2012.

I am absolutely furious at this bias. Totally silent on Ryan. Blue and yellow favouritism is once again in force.
