What a game! Didn't expect that, to be honest. So good! Especially after last week both with the Heart game, but also Sydney's previous game. 5-0 to Victory, and then we come and beat them 2-1! :D So good! ;) Umpiring was terrible though!

I guess the obvious question is: since that was without a doubt the greatest win in the club's history, is there anything else that comes anywhere near it? Absolutely fantastic performance; I can't think of a single player who took the field and didn't play a part (maybe I could give you Engelaar). Redmayne had an awful clanger to give away the goal, but he did some really good things as well. And I can't really remember many other really bad errors from anyone. Kisnorbo, Hoffman, Behich and Wielaert were all fantastic. After we went down to 10 men, Kewell won an insane amount of one-on-one high balls. Germano obviously won a few believers with his effort. Murdocca was running around like a madman, as usual. Williams' goal was just sublime. Ramsay and Dugandzic were lively. Garrucio is showing glimpses of the future, with plenty of pace and class. Everyone chipped in.

It was great to see how pumped Mifsud was when the reserve players joined in the celebrations after the game. Geez, he looks like a ripping bloke, the sort that the rest of the team would love having around. I feel a bit sorry for him, the way his season has gone. Hopefully he finds the back of the net a few times in the next couple of weeks (maybe he gets a reprieve with Engelaar out) and that starts giving him the confidence to do it in the real stuff.

I will be stunned if Melb City don't wear sky blue. A kit is the most noticeable part of any sports brand. They paid their money and so Man City are entitled to change the colour of the shirt.

These people are business savvy and will have gone over the things that really mattered to them before they parted with their $12M.

Great comments.
But Engelaar was looking very menacing, and Sydney was struggling with his poise and height and decision - making. Hoping it's only a 1 weeker. And with temps around 40 every day in Albury, could be a blessing he misses that one next week.

Hopefully a successful appeal.

Magnificent night out. It really was an entertaining game and the better side won. I thought Engalaar was dominant until his dismissal, some of his touches were superb. I must admit live I thought it was a possible red but the replay suggests yellow at best.

I was far more outraged at the two stonewall penalties we had denied. The ref was a muppet.

Germano makes a difference, and Kewell played the hold up role superbly, he was quality last night. Williams is a tease, has enormous potential but doesn't do it enough.

But overall it was just so pleasing to see them play with spirit and enterprise, full credit to JVS for that one.

Anyone heading up to hot Albury next Sunday?
I am.
Nah...though I dip my hat to anyone from Melbourne who makes the effort. Could be a risky move, voluntarily playing a home game interstate (just).

I would imagine Gallas would be left out of the Perth team, after apparently injuring his knee last night.

I'm supposed to be taking my boys up there, but am trying to wriggle out of it, because I burn if I am more than 10m away from the North or South pole! 80% likely to go though. I reckon the ref mised a 3rd pen too on Friday when Harry was clipped on the head in the first 10 mins. They have been diabolical this season the refs!
