Competitive if they can run all day and tackle hard, but will struggle to get close to winning most games without any serious firepower and very few 'stars'. Would like to see either pick 7 or 8 (which will become 10/11 or lower) used on something approaching a Kossie 2019 pick 12 type who can come in R1 to displace one of Melksham/Fritsch/Mihocek on form. Desperately need a pressure-minded-at-all-costs forward type in that mix to lock the ball in, especially when Kossie goes into the midfield.

Wouldn’t be opposed to them splitting either pick like they did pick 8 in 2019 to get Kossie and Rivers to do it.

Of what I’ve seen of him his marking really stood out to me too more than anything else.

Wins his own ball and 10 goals from 16 games is a pretty good start from a midfielder only getting 5 kicks per game.

No wonder we wanted Jack Billings at Pick 2 in 2013! Real 4D chess move getting a future Brownlow medalist for free 10 years later.

We really do have **** all depth. Just haven’t debuted enough decent players since 2021, on top of leaking the Jordon, Spargo, Hunt, Bedford, McVee, ANB, Harmes types that we got cheaply and turned into semi-regulars. Very little similar development recently on top of losing Jackson and Gus.

Becomes very noticeable now that Petracca and Oliver are gone. Expecting some bad beatings on off days/when injuries inevitably hit next year.

The McAdam trade really sums up our list management since 2021. Overpaid to recycle a hack whereas Adelaide paid that same pick to get ANB, a genuine value add, from us. Billings, Schache, Dunstan, Hunter…what was the point.
