What's the best way of getting from the Hume Freeway (Craigieburn location) to Kings Way/St Kilda Road without using tolls?

Currently spending about $60 a week on tolls getting to and from work and getting a bit sick of it. When I enter in the route into Google Maps and Apple Maps it doesn't give me a toll-free option.
Tulla, get off at Bulla Road. Go through Essendon etc.

It will extend your travel time a shitload though.

I hijacked a hotted up car in Lygon street one night, got them to take me to a pub.
They stopped at the lights we jumped in the back seat
They were confused as to how we got invited in, the driver thought the passenger knew us and the passenger thought the driver knew us.
In the end they realised, we just jumped in at random ,they took us there,we joked about ,it was quite fun in the end we offered to buy them a drink.

New airport rail link announced.

Key points:

* No longer a dedicated tunnel, instead just an extension of current metro.

* Projected to be complete in 2029 (are you kidding me?)

* Will run along Cranbourne / Pakky lines (are you kidding me?)

* Will cost $20 per person each way (are you kidding me?)

So we'll be waiting a decade (plus), for a short extension of the metro, using the same carriages as Pakky/Cranny lines (i.e. no extra luggage compartments, just regular trains), and paying an absolute premium for it.

Melbourne... I don't even...

Anzac is still a stupid name for a train station, just call it Shrine or Domain or something else except for something as equally stupid as Southern Cross.

Right. That's where that is. Thank You!

So is the new station actually just going to be called Arden and current Nth Melbourne is staying at Nth Melbourne?

At one point i was under the impression that the new Arden St station would be called Nth Melbourne, and Nth Melbourne would be changed to West Melbourne (as it's actually in West Melbourne)

I believe this is correct unless they have changed their mind since.

EDIT: They've changed their mind because people would get confused and yet the still left Anzac as a station name.

I still call it Spencer St Station, this will never change.
Also, will continue to call ANZAC station as Domain Interchange or Domain, just because that's what Melbourne calls the area and that's what I've always known it to be.

I call it by both names tbh- Spencer and Southern x. About 50/50

I tend to use both interchangeably as well, but dear lord that old Spencer St Station was a shithole!

Ill see your Old Spencer st station and raise you a Flinders St toilets. They were a ****ing disgrace- i wouldnt want to let a dog go to the toilet in those, the way they used to be.

I think they are actually changing the area to be a new suburb called Arden. Just moved out of North Melbourne but that was definitely on the cards a few months back.

Did something happen in the city last night?

I saw a very heavy police presence at Flinders and Melbourne Central stations with random people getting stopped to be scanned like they do at airports.

Is this just a normal thing that happens on a Friday night now?
