Need to vent.

I can’t be positive about anything with this club at the moment, we are truly f’ed. Ross Lyon’s rancid footy style will always be able to grind out just enough wins to keep the pressure off him and get him another contract, whilst keeping us far far away from being successful or enjoyable to watch. We’re stuck in a neverending loop of mediocrity.
The list is chock full of spuds, we’ll delist a few then bring more in. The talented players have begun leaving. Neale last year and Hill this year so the list isn’t improving, we’re just maintaining status quo if we can get good deals. Development is poor. Kids are not improving properly and skills are falling away because of our s**t training philosophies. And they’re being played out of position. We have a mountain of injuries by the end of the season every year, despite never seeing any staffing changes in that department, which gives our s**t coaches an excuse for losing with their s**tty gameplan. I say ‘their’ but it’s really just Ross and some mindless drones, none of which would get a contract offer at any other club if they left Fremantle.
Absolutely spot on. Nailed it.

Aside from that there's such a lack of 'Freo feel' about the team, outside of Fyfe and maybe McCarthy there's very little special in our brand or flair that makes us unique. It used to be the the odd characters, the incredible Indigenous rep and tough as steel soldiers that made us what we were.

Dont know what we are now

The posts you like say otherwise.

You're just more selective at showing you're hand.

It's not Texas. I'm not pro Lyon at all. I'd love for a better replacement but unlike others who are convinced that Longmuir and Caracella are better I'll put my hand up and say I don't honestly know.

I believe Freo need better skills coaching too. That's Ross and the line coaches combine.

I look at it as a more holistic approach than just sack Lyon as he is what's wrong with Freo.

So much this. I’ve long said our heart and soul is gone. No trademark names are on this list. Fyfe is left to lead a nothing team who may be wearing a purple jumper but it’s not ‘the Dockers’.

So much sulking in these threads. Nothing changes.

Looking forward to 2020 when the Lyon haters grow older and more miserable.

s**t posts.

Looking forward to your Mea Culpa when Lyon gets the arse and we become watchable again. People like you shouldn't be allowed to watch when that happens, you should be forced to go and watch Ross Lyon coached VFL teams tackle their way to 2 point wins for the rest of your life.

So much immaturity in this post

It is. So melt away. It's not doing any good for you if you feel the need to speak like that mate
As opposed to saying you're looking forward to seeing people older and more miserable?
On the melt thread?
I remember when you talked about depression and what a negative effect footy was having on your life. And then you say that to others?

Agree, for all of Dardys faults at least hes a unique character with a couple of party tricks. Even our old spuds had something interesting, Dawson with his golden fists, Suban with his spaz temper, Ibbo backing into packs, Crowley could kick a goal at a decent clip, Kepler was just unique, Griffin was probably the best number 2 ruck in the league and zarke the best number 3, Sheridan was so vanilla that he some how transcended vanilla, Mzungu was a 4th quarter specialist, Danyle pearce was just a shitter version of BHill but still decent, CLancee could accumulate every now and then at an elite level. They all had something. Im struggling to find much in the way of party tricks for our foot soldiers now. Tucker and switta seem decent but probably wouldnt make that 2013 team.

Not footy. Just reading in every thread aboit how s**t Freo is and how Ross is destroyed the club.

Think this belongs here:

We don't seem to have many players who love the club and get as passionate about the outcome as the supporters. We used to have several of these Michael Barlow/Mzungu/Pav/Cook/Farmer types but now it's pretty much Walters and Fyfe.

It seems to be just a job to some of the squad. Maybe it comes with familiarity and time with the team. Maybe a lot of the squad didn't care for Freo growing up. Who knows, but I agree with what others have said about the lack of Freo X factor at the moment.

That will happen when you turn over 30+ players. There are 10 players with more than 3 years at Freo. Give it time and they'll develop the passion.

Possibly you're right
It's also possible (I think slightly less possible, but still possible) that we are transitioning into nothing more than a Western Gold Coast - players spend their obligatory development years here and then piss off to higher profile clubs.
The club is s**t at present. The game style is joyless, we are pilloried in the media and by the general populace about town, and the players are glum. We can go one of two ways from here - rise and shine, or death spiral into Gold Coast. Who knows which way it will go, I'd say the odds are about 6/4 on the former. Not great.

Transitioning into or transitioning back into. Our early years fit that definition to a T. We've pushed that back in the last 8 years.

Melt time.

Just checked the votes thread and saw Langdon getting votes! What the * game were you people watching, biggest liability in our team bar none. I didn't think anything could be worse than his kicking skills.... but I was wrong. His decision making is worse.

Those that gave him votes, were you at the game?

We will never go anywhere with him in the 22, I can guarantee it. * he's worse than Danyle Pearce (Something I didn't think was possible). I'd prefer Schultz in the side than Langdon and that's saying something. * it, lets get Suban back instead.

Asks for the ball when he's already under pressure or just in a s**t spot in general. Never looks up and scans the oval before kicking. Just hoofs it. The only time he doesn't hoof it long is when we have a geniuene 1v1 in the goal square, that's when he try some cute bullshit and tries to kick to 1v3 instead.

I'm an atheist, but by God I will praise Jesus if Langdon leaves the club.

People praising Langdon getting the ball 37 times. That was because of the hard work the inside mids did, winning the ball and dishing it off to the outside mids. We ran at about 13% I think last night for i50/goals conversions which has been a common theme this year. Langdon is a big part of that. He is a big part of our problem.
