Go forward sure. But he was out gunned by Wines down forward. One time Wines took the mark and Neale stood there angry at himself, meanwhile Wines runs into an open goal 20m away. He got sucked in too many times to the ball as well (so did everyone) and it went over their heads for a port I50

Can we stop comparing our situation to Port's? It is nothing alike. They weren't terrible last year, granted they lost more than they should have, but they had some great wins along the way. We were terrible. They also have a much, much younger list and play a style suited to modern football. Again, nothing like our situation. The difference is, Hinkley was under pressure because the club knew they were underperforming (expectations of at least finals). They didn't extend his contract because the results weren't what they wanted, smart move in hindsight as he has obviously done his homework in the off season and they're on fire again.

Neale will hate that he's in the weekly highlights reel for all the wrong reasons.
It's all relative but I agree. Very poor defensively and I couldn't find a spot for him in my top 6-7. Would've been in our top 10 though which is kind of sad.

What so many posters on this board have not recognised or understood about what has changed at Fremantle is that the players we delisted and traded is that they were never going to improve beyond what they had achieved in AFL football .
RTB and the match committee recognized that during the 2015 season . Ross has changed his coaching panel hoping that the new guys would be able to inspire the current players and also develop the new players coming into the Club . Rock who had worked for Ross at St Kilda has this year conducted most of the training . He was very successful at developing young footballers . Hale has been working with the midfield and Guerra with the forwards .Both are first time assistant coaches and last year they convinced Ross that they could improve the skills of our players . Ross admitted that he made a mistake in leaving too much to his assistants last year .
The team that we have assembled to play from round 1 contains a number of players that missed most of last year and it shows . Fyfe ,Sandi and Johnson are under performing and battling to get up to speed .Lachie Neil is way under done and will take time to regain his match fitness as well as his touch. Griffin is also struggling but during training showed that his is in the best physical condition of he career . The game has got so much faster so now his lack of mobility and poor marking is really being exposed . The forward line is the weakest we have ever played .Yarran is the missing key and Kersten as his replacement is struggling .
We have a lot of players that are blue collar workers but no stars and with the increased speed and new tactics opposition teams are using to negate static defence they are being caught out for what they are . Sutcliffe , Suban ,Spurr ,Dawson ,Griffin and D Pearce . Players that are in the beginning of their careers Weller ,Langdon and Tucker are struggling but are giving it everything they have . The only real A graders in the team are the Hill brothers , Walters and Fyfe . But its not just the playing personnel that is too blame . We have a serious lack of system in all quarters of the Club .
Firstly our Management and recruiters up and until this year have picked some very poor options . Not being willing to trade players for better draft picks .Very poor medical checks into player before drafting them .
We have not replaced departing coaches with better ones . except in the cast of Rock .
We have not adapted to the new rules and we are no closer to improving how to play modern football. All preseason players were looking to play on and move the ball faster but old habits die slowly .As soon as the players are put under pressure they go for the long kick down the line to a contest ,thus the turnovers and the ball just comes back . So many times at training it was the same story and no body pulled them up about it . We have some big bodied midfielders but when they are all going in and no one is on the outside it doesn't matter how many ruck taps we get the opposition are playing to his ruckwork rather than their own . How many times do we have Sandi win the ruck and then watch the opposition come out with the footy only because they have limited numbers in close and the majority on the outside moving ,ready to tackle our mid if we get it or spreading when they get it .
You know when thing aren't right with your Club when your senior players are yelling at each other and making hand gestures at each other during team huddles .

the number of times we got first hands to a loose ball but could not turn that into clean possession... very few one-touch players - to borrow a term from soccer.

Articles like this are pretty useless. Of course the board will say they support the coach. Of course Fyfe says he wants to stay. That's what people always say because to say anything else would lead to a media feeding frenzy. Means absolutely nothing.

Not true a lot of people calling 6pr today after the bond interview , all freo supporter are very frustrated and ask ross to be sack asking haslebly what going on . One bloke even soud like breaking down.

Bulldogs have Murphy, Suckling, Johnassien, Boyd and Wood as there rebounding defenders that set up attack. That's 5 players and Biggs aren't too shabby at it either.
Hawks have Birchall, Hodge/Burgoyne go through there, Burton, Henderson
Adelaide - Laird, Smith, Reilly
WCE - Hurn, Sheppard, McGovern, Wellingham
Freo - Weller?
Good teams start there attack from the backline and these players all push up the ground actually wanting the ball in there hands to start play. We moved Crozier out

I agree 100% but going with attacking defenders goes directly against Lyons stoppage game. Playing the %'s is in his DNA. After all the rule changes by the AFL to increase scoring and the speed of the game I wonder if he can change?
I just hope he can embrace the idea of taking the game on. I think we have a bit more speed now with Weller, Langdon, Walters, Tucker & Hill brothers etc to get with he times...
