We need a full forward. Taberner is the closest we have and needs to be played.

McCarthy is not a number 1 forward. 2nd or 3rd tall at best.

Agree, we need Taberner.

Only looked okay before we got him because he was FOURTH at GWS. Seriously overrated and looked better than he actually was because of the players around him and the easy match ups he was given over there.

Got absolutely SMASHED by Andrews today.

I don't want to hear any "Oh he's been out for x amount of time" bullshit to excuse him either. I'm sick of hearing it. Players have been out for longer periods of time with more serious physical injuries that actually effect your fitness and have come back golden and proved a point.

No return at all on his gifted opportunities.

I'm going to keep saying this, I said it the day trade period was over and I'm never going to change this opinion:

Apeness / Taberner > McCarthy / Kersten.

We look like a rabble of a team, I wish I wasn't so emotionally invested in this football club but I would give anything for some kind of hypnosis that could make me part with football because this team is so putrid at times and after 23 years they still seem a basket case at times. They have a way of wrecking my week regularly , not sure about anyone else but they sure do stress you out, I keep saying I cant take anymore but I am a glutton for punishment.
To me Sandilands as old as he is , is always the missing link in the chain, our ruck stocks are shot. Mundy is getting long in the tooth and is too slow and that is not the Fyfe out there that we know,Neil is just starting to find touch but our strength in the past ( our once awesome midfield ) is now really looking depleted , no wonder we are constantly getting beaten by all teams. There seems to be a real lack of confidence out there and I have no idea what the answer is , we have now dug a huge hole and I am not sure when & how we are going to crawl out of it.

McCarthy is fine. He's a good player. He's just not a key position player.

It's not his fault that we refuse to play the KPPs we do have and then expect him to play that role.

I'm with you. It's very tough. But i'm sure they are busting their gut out there. We just have some very dumb players

Why does mcarthy always have to try and outbody his opponent ? Hes not that big. Cant he lead???

Surely this is a directive from coaching & out style of play.
He's always been at his best as a lead and mark player, I don't get the body on body crap and back leading.

We got belted in the guts......
There area lot of players that are down on confidence and output, overall it starts there and around the ground on the ball.
Our midfield is not as good as we think

We have players who either aren't able to or aren't allowed to think for themselves

We have players who aren't up to AFL standard, thinking for themselves would make them worse.

I talked about players not being able to make or allowed to make decisions half way through 2015. A premiership that went begging due to not be able to make few adjustments through the season when again he stuck to my he old tried and mates.
Ross was a good recruit to get the club to a professional standard, but he did a good job coaching Harvey's team, he's been there since 2012 and this is his team now, no excuses.
We've let go young talent who were never given a chance to keep the old blokes. Now we are in another rebuild, to use Rosses exact words when hired, I'm here to win premiereships, that's worked well.

There has been a reluctance throughout the whole organisation and the fan base to confront the elephant in the room , a seriously unbalanced and talent limited playing list. There are no quick fixes. Half of the decisions seemed to be made with one aim , keeping Nat Fyfe . There are a few years of pain ahead forget the ladder. Improving the list should be our only concern. No one could honestly claim Ross is a bad coach but he's like Malthouse was at Carlton a bad fit for our situation

What are the biggest limitations of the list in your opinion?

Yep unfortunately it all stems from this, our recruiting/drafting department needs some serious assessment or more preferably roasting.. ..on the last part it could well end up like that but its ridiculously short sighted to not at least give him a couple years of the rebuild before assessing

Anyone else reminded of Nick Suban when watching Tucker?

No considering he spends barely half the game on the ground. He does need to do a bit more with the time he does spend on the ground but so do most of the side.

I wish there was a language appropriate melt for how I am feeling right now but during the game

Spurr - **** off
Sutcliffe - **** off
Griffin - **** off
Kersten - Absolute pea hearted spud and not the player that many here hoped for. Was a spud at Geelong and nothing has changed.
McCarthy - Overrated and definitely not the messiah that many of you on here made him out to be.

The big one though

Ross Lyon - All bets are off now as far as I'm concerned and I remember back to the days when I was hounded down by a lot of people on here for daring (hell forbid) to express an alternative view that expressed concern about his appointment. It took me a whole year to admit that maybe I jumped the gun but now, he lost a lot of credits last year and the few credit points he had this year with me have now expired. Why does he get judged differently? Plain and simple, he was brought in to win a premiership, he hasn't delivered and I don't believe that he will deliver, plain and simple.

Do you honestly beleive Ross and Bond ( he should not get off Scott free ) have had nothing to do with the recruitment team, let me tell you they have 3-4 meetings a year and the recruitment team say who is available and so on, Ross and bondy then tell them what they want and who's going out at years end. Sheridan, Crozier, smith, and the list goes on of 1st and 2nd round draft picks that don't make it, our development is useless unless your in Rosses favourites list.

I still hoping today Ross learn that playing favorism don't work( sherriden, sutty, spurr and Griffin)

Is it actually true that Ross told the team to recruit Max Duffy?
