I was thinking more Harley Bennell, who is no stranger to a tipple while rehabbing. I know I sound like a hindsight hero here but I never understood why he was in the LG in the first place, just seems like too much of a larrikin, for lack of a better term.
He's a figjam from his 3 medals and a doig in his first year. He's no leader. Should never have been in the LG.

This is all getting so so ugly now. Come on Freo. ******* do something!?!!?!? I hate the feeling that I can't shake that this club (like many other boys club type corps) just wants it all to magically disappear and to sweep potential sexual harassment under the carpet. It really makes me irk.

This is quite a large pile of rubbish. Sounds like you are swallowing the rubbish being fed you.

I’ve signed more that ten NDA’s this year for all manner of different business dealings. The whole purpose of them is that nothing is disclosed. It is not a boys club issue or to sweep things under the carpet it is professional practice.

The fact that there was an NDA signed and that it is being adhered to should encourage all supporters that we are a professionally run team. Of course the media hate it because they can’t get the info they want. So they bleat and stir up rubbish and innuendo in the hope they can get more info.

We had two execs that I helped get promotions last year (into other organisations) sign non disclosures about their time at our company. It is a routine course of business. Heck I have four different templates for them depending on the situation. People get caught up in the mystique of what they don’t know and then attribute motive to the very things they don’t understand.

Yes, but it's a bit different when it's someone as high profile as an afl head coach signing one for a sexual harassment case, that's hardly normal, it may be a normal business tool but it's an extraordinary circumstance.

We are an absolute shambles of the moment. We are the laughing stock of the AFL. The club hasn't been in a worse position on and off the field since Chris Connolly was coach.

I thought it was put on him to grow as a leader, learn as you go type thing and we had given him extra responsibility to help him thrive.

Certainly seemed that way when he was announced, all the talk from Ross and other leaders was how he was young and still learning and looking to mature and grow.

Was definitely a risky move that could blow up in our faces

Lol what? Hill did something idiotic, meh fine him and give him a lecture. Move on.

Ross said two words to a money hungry lady years ago, now someone else has come out because they too can smell money.

We're fine, seriously harden up people. Give it a month and we'll be discussing something else. You honestly think the players care that Ross said something years ago? I'm sure lots of our players, especially the younger ones, have said worse to girls at a night club before. It's such a nothing story, but the softness of people in 2018 think it's something big because they're constantly bitching about something.

Yeah and nah.
Ordinarily I’d say move on.
But these guys like it or not are given big dollars because they’re in a media driven industry. So unfortunately you can’t get your fat wages because of public driven dollars and then turn your back on them at the same time.

I’ve loved what Ross has brought our club but it’s unravelling relatively quickly. His constant commenting about respecting the AFLs respect and integrity law is hypocritical if he himself hasn’t been respectful to people in the public.

We’ve had a ridiculous amount of players breaching club standards in the recent past. If your coach doesn’t follow his own advice and mantra then you’re on a hiding to nothing.

I’m sure 99% of Ross has led by example but the 1% will catch you out and is what’s talked about and we’ve had too many have poor 1% moments.

Sadly Ross needs to go and I’d be amazed if he’s here beyond this year. Performance on field perhaps his last saving grace.

Also worth noting with that Brad Hill Move on notice and then the subsequent breach, he gave a false name to Police - that is pretty poor.

wow some real wowsers on here. footy players do stupid shit, in other news, water wet.

I’m disappointed that a member of our Leadership Group did stupid shit. With our list balance, we need stronger leadership now moreso than a few years ago. Not acceptable.

Jay Clark has tweeted Suma has been lined up for the freo job. Surely not.

"Lyon's job hanging by a thread" according to our great mate Gerard Whatley.

A couple of twigs on fire doesn't make a bush fire but if you do nothing about it the damage can be incredible.

There's a fair few of those little and not so little fires burning. BHill just threw a handful of firelighters on them.

Suggesting that there's nothing to see here is unbelievable. The club needs to get a handle on what's happening across the board and quick or we will be dealing with this stuff for a while yet.

No it really isn’t an exceptional circumstance. What is the point of a settlement if the info can just be used to damage the club anyway? Pay settlement and then keep paying 100 times over. I would bet that the clubs lawyers advised they have the NDA signed. Now it’s not working because someone broke the NDA but that isn’t the clubs fault.

Off field we are more financially sound, profitable and with the new facilities and stadium better than ever.

On field are we not in the midst of a rebuild? On field (although selecting Johnson and Danyle pisses me off) we have had two incredibly successful years of drafting and trading.

If the club fires Ross now it will only make things words and in fact possibly open them up to a lawsuit and massive payout to him. They made statements saying everything was investigated and resolved professionally. They now can’t dismiss him for it. We will be a laughing stock if we fire him.

It seems the east coast media are really driving this hard and appear to want some blood. The timing of all this is fishy and similar to what happens in politics. Hold onto information and strategically release it to put compounding pressure on the opposition so they make a mistake and slip up.

Saying that i am sick of "released statements" who were written by lawyers. I wouldn't mind hearing it from someone. Like what Fyfey did last year when there was huge media scrutiny saying hes going over East. He personally came out, addressed the issues and pretty much laid everything to rest.

I wasn't trying to suggest there is nothing to see here. I was suggesting the possibility there might be some overreaction going on. Club in crisis!, shambles! Because a kid on an enforced injury break got pissed and did something stupid?
Yes I agree it doesn't fit the modern narrative of robotic, perfectly disciplined athletes but there are different types of leadership and I bet the young players love Brad & look up to him because he's a running machine, an incredible athlete (with 3 premiership medals in the draw) who knows how to have a laugh and take the piss out of what must be at times an incredibly demanding environment for young men.
My opinion is lighten up, he's not the first, he won't be the last, its the nature of the beast with professional team sports.

It does seem to be over the top. Is it credible that Carlton or another cellar dweller wants Ross and are trying to get him sacked so they can pick him up cheap?
