We need to hire a specialist forward coach who can teach our players to lead into space, dummy leads to create space and to get our focal forwards to just stop pushing up the ground to be too knackered to compete in a 3 on 1 contest in the air.

They’re bloody footballers mate they should know the basics before they step on the field. Do you need to teach an accountant how to add and subtract?

I'm at a loss to understand how the Swans bring in young players and they are immediately up to speed , have the skill and fitness levels required of an AFL player and look like they belong from the get go when they have a crappy development league in the NEAFL and not exactly high picks , us on the other hand it's all wait , patience , 50 games blah blah blah

It’s called understanding a game plan

Surely you don't think our forwards actually want to push up into the oppo backline do you? That's clearly by instruction.

Not just the Swans either. A few teams are making a mockery of our rebuilding timeline. Still not sure why we are expected to just accept and swallow the whole rebuild narrative anyway, only mismanaged lists end up where we are.

Of course it's now our reality, but why is that ok? Why do we have to just accept it as a fait accompli?

Hawks have essentially rebuilt in half a season last year, North & West Coast have avoided the doldrums. Dogs are rebuilding on the fly, they're on pace with us and are putting out the youngest team in the comp most weeks, but at least they have a recent flag to show for their trouble.

We have to keep Ross until our squad can prove its anywhere near top 4 on quality, Then its the heave ho Harvey style. Get some fresh new ideas in just as we begin to threaten, 'You lose em like you get em' is what id say to Ross.

Our squad is simply not up to scratch and we need to either have a coup trade in (Hogan) or draft some more Fyfes.

his post was about leading as a forward which is a skill you learn in under 12's.
Yeah I know what you're saying, but the second part of the post was referring to teaching them to stop pushing so far up the ground.

IMO the issue with their leading and creating space isn't a lack of understanding or ability, look at highlights of McCarthy at GWS.

Open forward line, he had zero issue finding space, consistently leading out strongly and taking clean grabs inside 50.

Amazing what even numbers, an open forward line and decent forward structure can do. Delivery obviously plays a big part but our structure forces those poor entries from a lack of clear targets inside 50 all the time.

Wait for
1. Lessons to be learned
2. Though we showed endeavour
3. Pleased with the last quarter
4. Young players showed something
5. We’ll build on tonight’s experience
6. Older players stood up
Blah blah blah
Pretty much word for word. :thumbsu::rainbow:

The buck stops at the top and that’s Ross Lyon. I think he has been the best coach we have had but it’s time for change. Even the great coaches get moved on ie Leigh Mathews. Hardwick improved when he brought in better people around him Ross doesn’t allow this as it’s his way or the highway everyone on here has a go at Sumich but he left because he wasn’t a yes man

Ross Lyon is similar to Michael Johnson. Was very good a few years ago, but both have been underperforming for a while now, both are finished and we're better off without the both of them.

Ross isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but the club needs to realize he's finished, he's not good enough anymore and it's time to start making calls for a new coach.

He left because the club absolved him of all gameday responsibilities because he was a leak

They pushed him out and didn't even have to pay
