There has been a lot talk about rule changes these past few months, which means it is definately happening.

Anyone excited by the 20m running bounce rule? We could have used that when Hilly was in his prime.

I think the rest of the rules can go and get ****ed

I'd be mildly excited if players already didn't get like 25m to run before bouncing. So if it is actually going to be 30m then yeah great.

Rossco’s arrogance is so regressive to this club’s development, he did it throughout 2017 with Shane Kersten, and now, for some reason he’s doing with Sutfcliffe.

He continues to state in post-match pressers that he’s not here to conduct ‘match committe’ but when a journalist eludes to Sutcliffe’s role, he selects him unconditionally for next week.

Yet when asked about Johnson, (who Ross retired last week) he significantly downgraded his performance, suggesting it wasn’t a good game, then claimed he wasn’t here to conduct match committee.

Don’t see how this club is going anywhere when the coach needs to protect his own ego at the detriment of performance and development.

Was a very poor and defensive post match presser from Ross.

Keeping Sutcliffe when Bennell, Crowden and Grey are available is beyond stupid.

Good on Johnson for being as professional as we know he is on match day and when played at the last moment.

Just my 2 cents but Sutcliffe ain’t that bad. Seems to be the whipping boy for a lot on here. Gives his all. It’s Matera that I am frustrated with the most, outside of his set shot that he goaled he seems to just bang away like he’s about to have an army of Sarg’nt ants find his freckle.

Why the **** was Johnson up forward today

Pretty obvious I’d have thought. Darcy is the late out so rather than make wholesale changes to structure Johnson plugs the gap Jones creates by having to fill Darcy’s out.

But how dumb to have Darcy as a late out anyway. Pretty clear he had a bit of a groin so shouldn’t have even been on the flight in the first place and we missed an opportunity to have a peek at Strnadica or Meek.

We certainly see a lot of whipping boys in these threads. At one stage I had high hopes for Sutcliffe and used to defend his worth to the team, but his kicking skill errors are just not AFL standard.
It is not that I don't want to see him again it is just that from a skills point of view, Bennell and Crowden are way ahead (grey is similar though). When I saw Crowden live at Laithlain park in wet conditions, his kicking over 40 -50 metres was elite. He will be a signicant upgrade on Sutcliffe.

Going by Strnadica's efforts in the WAFL this weekend it was a real opportunity lost whilst acknowledging that Johnson did a good job all things considered.

Johnson was serviceable. There’s no doubt that he played his role competently and when you view him in comparison to McCarthy and Cox for this game he stood out as if he was Lance Franklin.

I don’t even understand Johnson as the emergency in the first place. It’s as if we knew Darcy wouldn’t pull up.

McGovern re-signs with the Eagles.
Why?
Did he stay because he is loyal?? I hope so.
Did we go after him ? I hope so, due diligence says yes.
Did he see a bright future at Freo if he was genuinely considering an offer from us????
Did he see more of a premiership window at the Toast?
Did he have any negatives on thoughts of playing in a Ross Lyon team, is that a consideration?
Are we a destination club??

I really hope he is just being loyal to the club that showed faith and gave him the opportunity.....
