And you were happy with
the 5-15 free kick count plus the ones they didn’t pay us
Get in front and first to the ball and free kicks will come.
There was only 1 free kick that was absolutely laughable.
You need to factor in Margetts - we always start -12 by my count we actually ahead where should have been.

God knows what to make of that , the boys covered the line for me ... just so that was ok

Blues had a bit better side in this week but it is still a team that did something I would have thought impossible at AFL level last week and got outscored in the last quarter 18 v 22

Oh well wins aren't something Freo fans can take for granted
Jeezus we have a hard time making it count when we have some space

I think Bhilly wants to go back to the Hawks to look for his lost kicking boots

It wasn't Margetts penalising us in the first half but the other 2 umpires.

How does it impact?

It reinforcing my belief that the club leadership is way off course, incapable of listening to advice and is not isolated to the football department.

I do not have faith that the current administration is operating in an efficient manner, and as I thought I had mentioned, sustained success onfield is normally predicated by having a clean and sharp team off the field with a steady hand on the tiller.

Why would I, and others invest our money into a product which is subject to mismanagement?

Well Big Fella what money have you invested? How many years have you been a premium or Harbourmaster ticketholder for how and how many tickets all up do you pay for annually as your suggested Investment. I think a few of us on here would be interested to know just for Info's sake.

Anyone who wants Freo to succeed should be upset at that performance, we hopped over the line to the worst team in the AFL, what did we actually achieve? Coach survives longer with his pathetic game plan and shambles of selections, our injury list grows ever longer which seems to be a ongoing thing every year and the fans can brag we just beat Carlton? Anyone happy after this week just forever lives with our mediocre performance whilst the trash across the road has constant success, and pushing for yet another grand final with a lot of key players out.

Call me when we beat back to back top 8 contenders because were years off that. We havent even beat a top 8 side this year, our biggest claim to fame was the Bombers in Perth so whilst you celebrate "success" i am a realist and each year we have new excuses when we were meant to be a no excuse club with a Premiership by 2020, if we made finals under Ross by 2020 id be surprised, but hey lets celebrate another pathetic performance. Am i miserable supporter, you bet your ass i am, 23 years of excuses and counting, GWS constantly push for the GF, Eagles are pushing yet again and yet we just try to come up with excuses. Ross Lyon is the reason were playing youth instead of transitioning like the great teams such as Geelong, Swans, Hawks, WCE etc

So much wrong with your rage-infused analysis yet again although the one thing I will say is that this win was better than a 10 goal or even 100 point win. We win the game in that fashion then we'll have the likes of you coming on and saying "Oh it's only Carlton" or "But wait this team lost against GWS with 16 players" anyways. This was a much better win in my opinion and I was surprised and happy about the performance considering how the 1st Half played out. The players stood up and we also managed to out coach a comparable if not better side than us convincingly in the second. Fact.

Also you need to stop bringing up the same crap that's unrelated to yesterdays game every time you come in here for the sake of whinging.

Mentioning and repeating your sentiment on Eagles out of context for example says it all really. Get off your burner.

we had one massive qtr, what is special about that win? Our fans sound like gambling addicts, theyll lose a grand on the pokies then celebrate the five dollar scratchie win and find the positives. At least West Coast Fever showed what a decent coaching panel can do ;)

We beat Port, we've had a better year than last year, last year we had 3 thrilling wins & 4 games we lost by 80+, we've had a tougher draw in terms double ups (offset by the Suns home game at Optus) and have had a worse year for injuries. We're about 6% better off and the same wins. We've won 3 games without Fyfe/Sandi and still have two more games to come. There have been some bad lows (Brisbane, Hawthorn the two lowlights) but I think there is a bit to like about the season.

We were with GWS with 8min to go, similar with Essendon, probably may have beaten WC if it weren't for Walters knee injury early.

We're a long way off contending but imo not that far off finals, a good draw, a good run with injury and we can improve again.

My melt is that this is in the wrong thread (otherwise I agree)

Agreed. Please keep the debate and rational posts in one of the many other threads available. Leave this thread for irrational meltdowns and hopefully we can contain it to this thread (and the gameday thread when we are losing )

We have a completely questionable game plan still and we still have no clear method going forward.

We basically progressed such a small amount that if next year is the same, the heat will be turned up on the team and usually not good stuff happens if a team can't respond.

Massive first 6-8 games next year.

Agreed, all things being equal I’d expect us to be 50-50 at the bye touching distance of the 8 or Ross will be done. He will see the writing in the wall if we have another season like 17-18.

Do you reckon we can do it? I just look at all 12 sides above us and they all look so much stronger (maybe North is the exception). If we're completely injury free maybe 8th/9th is in play but I don't think we've got a hope in hell of that being the case.

2 or 3 quality new assistants and a massive shake up of the sports science dept and yep, I think we definitely can be. The list is good enough imo.

Good call. There was a time we could barely win without 211. I dont think the W/L record would be good reading without Fyfe as well.

I feel that our performance without Fyfe is a bit worrying. That we have done Okayish without our best player suggests a bit that we don’t use him well or he doesn’t enhance the performance of others enough.

Looking at it a little closer the wins we got without them was against Crows (Opposition injuries - Fyfe suspended), Blues X2 (say no more) & Port (They were toilet that day and we werent much better). So the opposition werent of the highest quality.

I reckon the quaity of those 2 shine through when a game needs breaking open. They have those big moments that inspire the rest. I dont reckon we have had too many arm wrestles in the back half of the year. Weve mostly been blown away except for thee games previously stated.

4 of our last 5 losses have been by 50+ yet people are seeing improvement, if anything we are probably going backward, positives are havent lost by 100 but our average losing margin still remains 48 same as last year, so should we be happy we are consistently losing by around 50 where as last year we either got smashed or stayed competitive, this year we just seem to keep loses around the 50 point region (8 of our 12 over 50, 4 under 50), should give Ross the Harvey treatment and trial Ratten for 3 years, either made a great investment or a big mistake
