Tackling the big issues in this thread

One three double-oh six triple-five oh-six for the reading and writing hotline must be confusing with those number and letter hybrids for a phone number

They had a big conversation about the prevalence of the letter o in the place of numbers when reading out phone numbers on the radio the other month

Some people concluded it was just shortening zero to simply o while others only used oh as a replacement for 0 in the first half of their numbers

Plus we say both triple-zero and triple-oh for an emergency
