Of course, but the form of Hill is one of them. In a year in which our skills have turned completely to shit, there's at least a dozen players that have contributed to that. Hill is near the top of that list, especially given he's usually one of our best kicks.

The baffling thing about it all is that the noise made by the club in the pre-season was that skills were a major focus.
Yup skill is the focus, but not decision making under pressure. At training we train not to injure player and go soft with tackle.

His value really is whatever it takes to get us someone like McCarthy....
Surely McCarthy's trade value has dropped a fair bit since he isnt playing this year or isnt training. I heard reports he is lining up to train at south freo, but havent read anything since.
Maybe Jenkins and steak knives like McGovern.

Hardly any I would have thought....Maybe some back in 2013-14, bugger all now :(
I hate to even say this, but if we are going down the trade route, then Neale is the obvious choice...

He's not the obvious choice because he's still young, and will be around when our rebuild bears fruit.

Ballantyne and others his age will be retired by the time we are premiership contenders again, that is why they are the obvious choice for trades. Looking at guys who have some currency but are over 26 years old, so guys like Ballantyne, Ibbotson, Mayne etc.

Currency is determined by what people will pay for them. Clubs will pay a premium for the likes of Neale, they wont for Mayne or Ballas.

Our skill level is atrocious. Until we fix that, we aren't winning games.

I thought we would never play as bad as we did against the bulldogs round 1. They proved me wrong yesterday.

I'm sure foot skills were a focus. Decision making under pressure being poor, hesitation rife; impacts disposal efficiency - This has been pointed out a bit.

Nuance shouldn't be lost. Ross Lyon says the gameplan they put in place is not being executed. I believe that being the natural cause for all this before I believe this knee-jerk dunce assumption he's sh!t or the gameplan is sh!t or the personnel just isn't there skill-wise this season. (the same personnel that was minor premiers last? almost saw a GF day.. ?)

I'm fine to wait and see, not lop heads off. 2012 weren't no GF ready side either. 2017 could quite conceivably be our 2013. Hopefully better :P

Come on we get over the line with Sydney without buddy because they can't kick straight hardly impressive win.

My melt is directed toward some of the 'fans' I have to sit next to at the game. The "just kick it" brigade.

Negative sarcastic comments before the first bounce. Insults and criticism throughout.

Yes, we're struggling. Yes, feel free to provide some critique. But FFS support your team during the game. It was the Len Hall game too :-(

What was our win/loss ratio in 2012 at the start? And when we did start to win a while heap of games?

We won 3 of our first 5, 5 of our first 7. The eighth game was the infamous derby. Things were nowhere as bad as this.
Jeez the media made it out to be pretty bad then because all I remember was the rubbish we copped from the derby, thought we must've had a poorer start.

Sounds like a real banker.

I have to have a melt at Ballantyne. That tummy punch to Murphy was ridiculous. Murphy is a free kick magnet and Ballas the opposite. He cost us a goal and it seems he will never learn. I also think the club have to lay it on the line to him. Either he cleans up his act or he is done.

Lol. There was nothing in and Murphy should've been done for staging.

I hate that squibbing little bitch

Yeah I know :( for some reason I thought we were a lot poorer at the start of 2012.

What a hot mess

It's a perfect storm happening for us in 2016,change in rules, oldest list in the AFL,injury list mounting by the day to our best players & the transition to a new game plan.

You are right to an extent.
Everyone knows that the lightest little tap sees Murphy go down like he's been shot, but Ballas decides to be a smart arse and does it anyway.
Cost a goal in a game we lose by less than a goal.

When you are a gun and contributing you flaws are overlooked, right now he contributes little and gives away plenty

Ballantyne had been the least of our problems to be frank and yesterday he was brave to carry on at all after getting hammered twice in the first ten minutes.

He chased even though his legs weren't working....limping as he ran after them from one side to the other...

If half the team had his attitude we may have got over the line

And then seconds later a Carlton player retaliates by whacking Ballas three times harder in the chest, but no free for that of course.
