Sydney played 8 players under 30 games yesterday and beat cats in Geelong. We accept mediocrity to easy. I hope we get our act together next year.
Not making excuses ,we were shite yesterday but Sydney had most of there best midfield and best players and Buddy available. Freo have lost the wrong players , their best players.

Shhh..you're not suppose to say things like that...The apologists will come and ridicule you.

Malik, Scon, Doorman will tell you these kinds of losses are fantastic because we can 'tank' harder.

They'll tell you we were top of the ladder last year so that justifies everything happening now.

With the current coach, draft/selection policy, game plan and direction of the club, we will keep going backwards all the way to the Drum era..

Oh wait...we're already there.
Nothing wrong with Malik and Scons opinions - especially with the amount of time they spend watching every facet of the club week in week out.

Doorman blocked me for being critical about Suban - so you get exceptions.

It's pretty difficult to get a read on where we'll be next year based on what the current team is doing. I think we're going to make at least 10 changes to the line up that played against Melbourne, with most of the incoming players significantly better than the outgoing.

D.Pearce -> Bennell
Suban -> Fyfe
Griffin -> Sandilands
Collins -> Johnson
Dawson -> A.Pearce
Ibbotson -> Hughes
Mayne -> Petrevski-Seton
Pavlich -> McCarthy
Taberner -> Apeness (or in for a small if we want/need height)
Sutcliffe -> Barlow (or Morabito)

Another preseason and more experience into Tucker, Weller, Langdon and Blakely will likely see them improve next year.

Those guys aside it leaves Walters, Neale, Hill, Crozier, Ballantyne
Spurr, Sheridan and Mundy as next years best 22 players out there.

Mundy effectively played half a game and has had an average season after an interrupted preseason.

I can see some of those omissions happening, although Taberner is the safest lock in for the Best 22 out of those 20 players alongside Fyfe, A.Pearce and Sandilands.

Which ones don't you see?

Yeah agreed on Taberner, that was presuming we were going for a small forward line due to slippery conditions like last night ie Apeness makes a better ruck/forward. Likely Apeness would come in for someone like Langdon

The other significant factor for me is Ross's admission to a lack of running in the preseason and the impact this has had on our ability to run out quarters and, indirectly, our skills. It stops players being able to get separation from their opponent meaning kicks need to be more precise and the immediate option available being less clear to the kicker. You could see how stagnant they were for big portions of the game and the lack of separation from their opponents when providing an option. It also impacts on the kickers ability to execute the kick.

They talk about a lack of work rate/effort but if you're contesting from a lower fitness base across the board it's going to be telling.

Some of our players have built their careers on running ability and work rate because they don't have the skill of others. It's these types of players that we are clearly trying to move away from so part of me wonders if the lack of running was a deliberate ploy to take away that asset.

It will be interesting to see the impact when we return to Silias running loads next year.

Long haired Champs.
Dunno what Sillyarse running loads are but I think The Boss's comments were more to do with the injury list,specifically calves.
Our heavy duty running pressing congesting down the line game was deconstructed by kicking accuracy.
We have to reconstruct.
RTB is a deep thinking footy brainy bugger,nobody better to get it done.

Provide the quotes where we've said anything even remotely resembling this rubbish.
Otherwise we're back to the reality of you making shit up!!

Long haired Champs.
Reminds me of that old Biblical yarn of building your house on sand or rock.
The game is so incredibly demanding physically and in every other way it's like if 2 molecules are not in their place from day 1 you're rooted for the year.
We misplaced at least 1 molecule this year for sure.
