Can't believe the club haven't come out and made some sort of statement good, bad or otherwise regarding the Ballantyne revelation. Letting this story fester for 36-48 hours is deplorable.

Their PR approach has been terrible all year long, perhaps for a couple of years now. The amount of stories that have broken here, there and everywhere else, (even on the AFL website for crying out loud!!) before hearing a peep from the club is an absolute disgrace. Surely if we are attempting to become a powerhouse club (as we are led to believe) they would want to exercise some form of control over their own noise.

Anyone would think it was the left to the Curtin uni kids who film the Peel games.

No of course it's not. Clearly the club don't want to make comment. They obviously feel that Lyon's comments are sufficient.

I certainly am not one of those people who feels they have some obligation to keep the members informed, they're a business at the end of the day. It's just not great business to let others control your noise.

Perhaps... but I demand better from the club. I realise that this ****ed up season is almost at an end BUT for FFS we Freo supporters do deserve better. We should DEMAND better.

If it's like this same time next year then load him in the cannon along with any other player clogging up the list. No mercy.

Get a grip. We have finished top 6 in every year since he has come to the club until this year.

We need someone strong at the top otherwise we could crumble as a club.

Next year will be year 1 of the mini rebuild. Ross deserves at least two more years.

We were a horrid team last round, what makes you think it's within the realm of possibility for a coach to turn it around within 7 days? It's not happening.

Nobody can turn the ship around in the space of a round.

This is a rebuild so you have to judge progress using a much longer sample space ,IDK maybe a few seasons is fair .

Of course we need to see signs of progress : player development , game plans/structures appearing, tactical nous from the coaching staff etc, but again it's very hard to create the foundation for this to occur mid-season. The rest of this year is just biding time until a reset is possible in the off season- so even if all we see is chaos and heavy loses it doesn't necessarily reflect profoundly on the direction of the club or Lyon's tenure.

Don't tell me to get a grip. Don't be so sensitive perhaps... We shouldn't accept mediocrity... unless you are apart of the lot that applauded Mayne's goal after the siren after we lost to Carlton this season. Pathetic.

Whether this is a 1 year rebuild or longer for Freo remains to be seen. I am not convinced after the width and depth of the clubs collapse.

No one should be safe- player or coach. All I am saying is another season like this ... if it's like this same time next year then he should go. We should DEMAND better.

The list managment is iffy at best with D. Pearce being resigned for 2 years.

This is true. Will be a massive pay out if it turns out Ross can't actually develop youth or form a more attacking game plan.

Well how many rounds are you basing your comments on? Even if you use the entirety of this season to make a judgement it's still not a compelling argument.

Well there is no guarantees the next senior coach will be any good, but I don't think we should keep RTB around if it's apparent he ain't the boss no more.
