There's always one. I'm just curious. Players may have been mentally perpared but would they have been as physically perpared for a full game to start if it was at 1pm our time.

You hear a lot of talk from players in the EPL questioning the midday kick offs as they can't get their full preperation in as they would for a 3pm game. But I guess with England there is no time differences to worry about - least of all a 3 hour difference
I dont know...You would think an hour or 2 earlier shouldnt make much difference....Maybe they all over slept!...That may explain this aberration!!

Mayne, c.Pearce ,Barlow , deboer,gu need to play with peel until they lead peel to smash opposition in order to get their place back. Enough afl experience , skill to do that.

This is what frustrated me the most (apart from the poor skills). We've never been known for our high footy IQ out there but today was just bizarre how many times we did that. We train at getting out of congestion more than any single area of play and yet, it made no difference.

You can over coach the players that the ball has to go there but the better option is else where, you have to work to your style of game plan but you still must play what's in front of you. IMO I think our players are scared of making decisions out side the system, opposition coaches will work it out.

No. They should never play AFL again.

Barlow was an awesome player for four or five years, but his days are over. He does nothing and when he does, he is the turnover king.

Taberner is disgusting.

D Pearce soft as butter.

Hill... didn't even know he was playing until the last ten minutes.

Lachie Weller and Pav are the only who deserved a jumper.

I was at training on Monday - you train like you are playing

One exercise was simply square work kicking and all they had to do was have 15 kicks not dropped...

Well it got to the 7th time and I had to look away

Totally agree, last week I see that with the peel team also. Anywhere I hoping this year a rebuild year.

Sandi, A Pearce, Bennell (ASAP), MJ, Morabito (ASAP), Langdon, Blakely and I reckon even Tucker.

Big call but I think Pav has to go to CHB or retire.

Out Clarke, Barlow, Mzungu, C Pearce, Mayne, Suban for a start.

We are in for some pain, now we'll see what Ross can do when he has to rebuild on the fly. If he sticks with the tried and true then its insane.
Pav was being double teamed! The guy is about 34 and has carried not just a team, but a club since he was 18. ****ing hell. The guy battled well and tried his heart out. He was good.

No leadership out on the field today. The only person I saw getting worked up was Suban which isn't much of a surprise. It was a bit embarrassing seeing Mundy being interviewed at half time because its so obvious he is not captain material. Great player and nice guy but too timid and not a leader of men. Prove me wrong David prove me wrong.

Im a big nba fan and can see the similarities. I feel like we are the Memphis grizzlies trying to still grind out games with defence whereas the rest of the league is playing warriors bball and scoring at will. I think the real question here is can Ross actually change his style? I thank he wants to but I'm not sure he actually knows how to or can

Tab, croz need to get out of freo and play for WB,Sydney or WB.

Oh and for ****s sake – who said Sheridan was apparently going to star this season?

**** he's shit. A ball watcher, no footy instincts.

the flip? Sheridan was one of the few calm and precise players we had today. Stats aren't everything, but 27 disposals at 74% efficiency in a game where we were under immense pressure is pretty damn good.

These guys will always smash at Peel. When they play WAFL, they are bigger, fitter, professional athletes playing against amateurs with real jobs. But when they step up to AFL level, their skills are a liability. It doesn't matter how long they spend at Peel, they won't be good enough.

A captain doesn't make a team.

When you have players like Mayne, D.Pearce, C.Pearce, Suban who constantly turn it over or stuff up the easiest it just kills the team.

I'm starting to worry. I've supported him so far but can Ross Lyon actually change? He's promised this attacking brand since 2013 and still hasn't delivered bar the first half of last year.

Problem is that Mayne has never been dropped to WAFL, which is a joke now.

How will he learn if he is told he is doing a good job

Captains do nothing in football teams. It's a purely honourary position. It's not like Cricket where he sets the field, all a captain can do in footy is lead by example.

One of the great ruckman of all time but it's a bit sad when we relying on a 33 year old ruck and a 31 year old defender to get our team going, you need to bank four points as many weeks as you can but you got bring your better young guys in as you progress or they get stale and don't learn to play at the top level, even the swans played a rookie player yesterday.
