I perused their board, as you have to in light of a loss like that, and I was interested in the parallels between their criticisms of Hardwick and ours of Ross. Many believe that Hardwick has seriously stifled the flair and attacking intent in favour of a more disciplined and rigid ethos and the demise of Trent Cotchin from damaging, line-breaking midfielder to ineffective chipscab best typifies it. When I think of Richmond I can't help but think of their game against us last year and their wins against Hawthorn in recent years where they've shown themselves capable of scintillating offensive footy but many Richmond fans think of their side as rudderless, dour and limp-wristed. As funny as their melts are I couldn't help but empathize a little with them.

The big difference is no one could call Fremantle limp wristed. If we're anything we're a contested ball beast of a team. Dour, yes at times. Rudderless, yes at times. Effort and commitment to winning the ball rarely questioned. Richmond don't seem to have the cattle to grind out games through sheer force like we do.

Mzungu, Barlow, Suban, C Pearce, de Boer, Mayne all should shopped around and we should try to get games into Weller, A pearce, Langdon, etc.

We are shit. Too many basic skill errors and a total lack of coherent gameplan execution. We look like a team of players that just do stuff with no strategy for success.
