No one answered my question - I can't bear to watch the game now - but are we playing the same game plan as last year and being flogged for it, or are we trying to be more attacking with the players being given first dibs not having the skill to execute?

If it is the latter, I suspect that the experienced players are being given an opportunity to play themselves out, with the view to easing the younger skilled players in. There's no other way to justify dropping loyal stalwarts of the team but losses, so I can see that this is going to end a long, painful transition year.

Yeah, think of 2012. But just can't see us making the adjustment this year quickly enough to contend.
The latter, I hope.

I already think that with the players on our list we simply don't have the cattle to contend this year. We can add Bennell and Yarren and even Grey or Crozier and whoever else and continue to play Weller and Langdon but we're starting from too far back, the structures, uncompromising adherence to the gameplan and the defensive mechanisms we've adopted over Lyon's reign won't be easily swung the other way quick enough. We need to be much more fluid and instinctive but our habits are deeply ingrained. BUT if we do all that I think we'll be well poised for next year and beyond.

Midfield was a disgrace in second quarter. Hill, Neale, Mundy, Fyfe, Suban let them clear it with no opposition whatsoever and on the rare occasion they got it, turned it straight over. Ibbo, Clancee and Sherro were asleep all night, running around like headless chooks, looking busy but effectively doing nothing.

I only saw it on TV, so I'm hoping someone can explain how gc repeatedly marched it through the midfield to easily pick out their forwards? Our defenders had an average day, but you can hardly blame them given that onslaught from midfield.
What's going on to make it look like we're constantly outnumbered?

Fyfe under instructions to play that way in the first half. Second half they decided to do shoot out with opposition.

Probably that they are all very slow and not agile, the fact Weller looks quick is a big, big issue

How much is West Coast to beat us by 100 paying?

Yeah and Jack Watts has one of the fastest recorded too

Not someone you'd want as the best mover in your middle imo

Yep and that's probably part of the reason he went number one. Tall's with explosive pace are rare, his development has been questionable.

For what its worth, comparing like for like, it's the same testing speed as Shuey, Dangerfield and faster than Jetta. It would basically put him top 10 in each year since it's been recorded. Weller has got a set of wheels on him.

Then is it fitness? Because he sure doesn't play like it - doesn't look like someone who can only run straight lines other

Also this may seem like I'm knocking him - I'm not it's more I feel we need players quicker than him, our lines get broken way too easy by the run it's not only a rarity to see a chase down but it's even becoming rare to see someone able to put chasing pressure on or keep up with the play

It's the Eagles we won't risk a massive smashing

I doubt Ross gives a shit that it's the Eagles.

If we're down by 30 at the half, he'll go for it like he did today. He doesn't want to be 0-3.

Why does Ross hate Silvi, C.pearce is badly out of form
Don't know really , even deboer in I think we got a chance to win today by 1 or 2 point.

Our coach, too!

It's clear were trying new things and its gonna take games to find our groove. You guys keep melting though... really productive!

Ross very correct we only blew one quarter today
Yes so why can't we peg back in the other three quarters? It's because we didn't really win the other three that's why

For whatever sick, please drop clacee turnover slow decision making Pearce. Two week in a row not including peel Rd 1.
