What do you think roughly what Neales value on the trade table would be?
Treloar was worth 2 first rounders (likley to be 2 top 10 picks) and I rate Lachie higher
Neale's play is hard to figure out in respect to how other teams view him. He accumulates the ball a lot however he's not that damaging with it, has his moments in games but a lot of his possessions go for nought.

Neale's is a young kid that is still building and learning . Yes he is going to turn the ball over and yes he is going to miss targets but he is a guy that's improving . The last 2 years he would do anything to avoid using his left boot ,now he is comfortable using his left .He has had to spend more time in and under due to the absence of Mundy and he is in full recovery mode from game to game How come so many of you have such short memories .Neale is now one of the cornerstones that this football team will be rebuilt on along with Fyfe ,Walters , Alex Pearce , Bennell ,Hill , Weller , Langdon , Grey ,Hughes and Sheridan .Hopefully Blakley , Sutcliffe ,Collins ,Hurley , Apeness and Josh Deluca .
We need to keep in mind that we have not got many top 10 draft picks in the team so this season may be a blessing in disguise .
But serious questions will have to be asked of Bond , Lloyd and Ross if we don't cut out the dead wood and keep players that have not performed or improved over the last 2 years . Tanner Smith and Hannath , Crozier and Silvagni .
Clarke ,Suban ,Clancee Pearce ,Mzungu and DeBoer are required while we get games into youth .There is no way RTB or Bond will get rid of the experienced backup in one season with the retirements of Pavlich ,Johnson ,Danyle Pearce , Mundy ,Griffin and Dawson looming up fast .
I haven't included Morabito in any of the equations because he is an unknown , he will play but he is one serious injury away from a forced retirement .

Smith is better than Tab now , before this I think the same regarding delist him.

Smith is being tried up forward after failing down back .The coaches Hale and Shepherd are in his ear at every quarter time break about his performances .
Meima from the outside you may perceive that he is improving .Go onto the field when the coaches talk to the players and you will better understand why I'm making the statements about Smith that I do.
Taberner is improving and he will get better .He is gaining confidence and starting to hold more marks . I would not delist him just yet only because we have not seen him stall in his development .

Not really, Mitchell is damaging with the ball. Do you think Neale is damaging with his possessions like Mitchell is?

Mitchell was thought to not being damaging enough to tag in the days of heavy tags. Mitchell today is not the early Mitchell. Neale has a few more years yet to get the experience Mitchell has.

Nah totally different type, only height the same. He don't do dirty trick like Mitch.

Neale is just starting his career in the AFL .Given the small number of games he has played I think he could be as damaging as Mitchell with the football in hand but he will have to improve quite a bit to reach the level that Mitchell has .
Lachie is a smart young guy so I believe he will do the hard yards to be a better player . He has some terrific players around him who will give him the guidance and advise he needs .

Good point. Mitchell, Swan, Priddis and now Rockliff are ignored by opposition coaches because they don't do damage. What a crock of ****. The ability to find the ball is a talent that can't be taught.

With Hughes and possibly Blakely coming in this week not to mention loss of Johnson and Fyfe it's funny how Freo have gone from the most experienced and oldest to one of the least experienced and youngest in the space of a month.

... and if the scuttlebut about his future is correct, he won't be wearing purple next year.

Salim is talking about how Mitchell wasn't tagged as younger player the same age as Neale, not now as an older, more damaging player.

It still doesn't answer why so many of these kids are bog average. He's bragging about Lee Spurr getting a game in 2011 but five years later, he's rendered pretty close to irrelevant. I understand mature agers have a short shelf life. But where is the replacement? Brady Grey should have been segued in a little more subtly than he is. For fifth year players and top 20 picks, Crozier and Sheridan really aren't progressing at the expected rate. Even if the expected rate is a tapered one of expectation. For 22/23 year olds they should be bonafide first selected or else what's their role? Forever fringe players ala Byron Schammer? That's not a great early selection... that's a 'win' for a rookie selection!

He really seems like he's telling himself everything is okay. Is he trying to imply our issues are playing the youth? I don't know. I still think most people can see it's dead obvious Lachie Weller was hard done by to not play about 10 matches last season. Blakely should have gotten an earlier go too. Even Ballard getting one or two matches wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world; Bond talks about playing your way into the side and earning a debut... can someone tell me how running away with the BnF and getting 30 touches a week, while the usual customers in his position struggle or have form slumps, doesn't deserve the reward of an AFL match? Ditto goes for Michie the year before.

I don't really get the Taberner remark. He says he's played '40 or 50 games and two finals series' and that people are criticising him. Um. Shouldn't that mean the criticism is half justified? The kid is barely one anymore. He's been in high pressure situations, had plenty of time to adjust to the power, speed, fitness of the seniors... he's still bad!

All those years of hard work and building, finally starting to become a "destination club" players might want to come to get a crack at regular finals and a the possibility of a cup, a new state of the art facility underway and we neck a fat one down to the bottom of the ladder and undo it all.

Hooker signed with the Dons over us. The club that saw him out of the AFL for a year after injecting with banned substances etc.

It's unfortunate because we didn't take advantage of our success by snaring any free agents that wanted to go to a team challenging for finals.

It'll be even harder to attract top end talent now that we're cellar dwellers.

Might as well do a total rebuild now .

Unique Name I agree with what you're saying exactly but I'm not liking at comment.

meima Naaaa. Too much young talent to gut the team completely. Definitely going to be some big changes but not sure it's a total rebuild.

No having a go at you, Mayne at 27 got chance for a flag with another team than freo if he is not the main player , he perform better when under no pressure.next year he is 28 your hand will be full to drop him to WAFL compare to a young player

I defend him because he's my buddy for the year and it's fun, but, I am not blind to the facts. If there are others that can take his place and do it better next year when I am not his buddy, I'll be singing a different tune...

IMO there is some good young talent on the list and enough to base a team around without requiring a full clean out and rebuild. We certainly have needs that must be addressed but I don't think we are back to square one.
