You have to accept there's going to be downs as well as ups - it's only when you have prolonged periods of 'down' that you have to start asking questions. One season in the doldrums is fine, it's part of football and nothing to worry about.

I'm using the melt thread for what its for. You appear to be defending mediocrity. You certainly have your knickers in a knot. This season is ****ed and should be called out for what it is.

This season was long gone from about round 4. If I decide to comment today on the decline why should it concern you?

Our injury list, drafting, recruiting and game plan have all been terrible.

That is squarely at the feet of the coach and the football department.

And no, I don't think it's just bad luck that we've had one of the longest injury lists in the game year after year for half a decade.

I didn't instruct you to do anything. I was simply asking you to explain what kind of mindset was driving your posts.

The President leaving was always on the cards and has been for a while. Has nothing to do with our ladder position but sure go ahead and draw imaginary conclusions.

It's not debatable, its fact. We miss the finals this year after having played in them for the last 3 seasons and the terrible decision making you speak of had us top of the table last year. We are having a bad season and things have not gone our way at all in every facet.

Mentioned this briefly in the game day thread, but seriously... surely the continuous long bombs are not part of the game plan (they better not be), but players under pressure not wanting to muck up are just kicking away, infuriatingly always. Metres gained means f all if it gets mopped up so easily.

At some point Ross needs to say 'That's it... no more long bombs.. lower the eyes and take a damn shot, albeit a risky one, into the corridor, I'm not gunna punish you for giving it a damm crack'.

The benefit of the experience in doing this should far outweigh the possible turnover points...

Crozier gets it.. he does it, lets himself just react. He'll be B22 next year because of it.

We're 16th on the ladder... the best time to get this valuable experience in.

It's not debatable, its fact. We miss the finals this year after having played in them for the last 3 seasons and the terrible decision making you speak of had us top of the table last year. We are having a bad season and things have not gone our way at all in every facet.

Even last year our record against other good teams was very poor.

Many of us pointed this out, and that we weren't traveling nearly as well as the ladder suggested, and were ridiculed.

The people who ridiculed us then are wrong, and if you still think our coaches and match committee can do no wrong then I don't really know what to say.

I'm hoping...... with blind purple faith that this year will have shaken Ross and co into the reality of where our list is at. By the end of last year we all kept calling out our soldiers as not good enough but they kept on getting games and it took quite some time before they were dropped this season.

Imagine if this year we finished 6th or 7th and got bundled out the finals. A few excuses here and there and I reckon our soldiers would have still been playing the following years and our decline would have dragged on.

We've hit rockbottom this season in record time. It has ****ing sucked big time, but at least we haven't wasted 2-3 seasons in slow decline.

I hope we rid ourselves of sentiment and make the difficult decisions. No way should Ballas be getting a contract to when he is 32yrs old.
