I like Kersten, he is a smart footballer unlike some of the other players we have. Example. Kersten instead of trying to mark, deftly taps the incoming ball to his left where there was a running teammate as he knew it was a slim % to mark the ball (contested). That's the kind of players we need more of.
Taberner on the other hand, I just shake my head... how a guy with his running ability and height couldn't offer more against the Pies is beyond me.

So was McCarthy, Taberner and Crozier.

Staggering isn't it, whenever we lose, people bag the forwards, when in reality, it's our overrated midfield getting beaten again.

Just want to remind everyone that we have won 6 games so far. The team is still developing and I believe there is fatigue creeping in. We need the bye. My rating for our team would be a B- or C+ at this stage.

Midfield getting smashed twice in a row in clearances and skills wise. Blakely actually A Grade, whilst Fyfe and Mundy struggling to exert themselves. Hence leads to forwards looking spud like, as well as defend under real pressure.
Backline did a lot better, but seeing in person just how easy it was for the opposition with a lot more time and space to clear through the middle and hit targets was baffling. Collingwood had Moore as their only tall! Yet looked so much more effective. Midfield were able to pick their targets and fast.

We need that tempo and intensity from round 3 back. Our forwards looked a million dollars. Now looking like a bag of potatoes today.

Mids were well down on their usual output especially S Hill (copped an injury early) Neale and Mundy early on. Fyfe and Mundy improved. Blakely and Walters the best of them but Collingwood just stood up in or broke through their tackles.

Because we needed him in defence. Unfortunately the inclusion of Ryan for Ibbo didn't net us the result we were looking for and it seemed to put extra pressure on everyone down there.

Wellers future is in the midfield and once we get the defence right he'll be released to go in there.

Take out Spurr or Sutcliffe, play Hamling in their position and bring in Collins.
Weller, Crozier, Grey, Tucker, can play several positions, swap them around till we get a mismatch, start winning the
contests. Walters is the same, our predictability is easy to counter.
Weller back, mid, forward.
Crozier forward, back.
Grey, forward, mid.
Tucker back, mid.
Walters forward, mid.
Eventually Logue, Hughes in this basket.
