We got killed in the midfield today neale mundy hill Sheridan Suban weller had very little influence

Who of theres were influential? And Suban was tagging and nullified Stevens, so he was influential. Hill was good other than his disposal and Walters killed it when in the midfield. That wasn't the problem today.

Superb post! I have seen nothing to suggest that Ross can adapt and pretty much is players talent that has kept him alive opposed to good tactics.

Also Ross Lyon stubbornness has probably cost us a flag! Players like Walters should have been rotated in the midfield years ago, but because of 'role' policy it meant players stuck it out even if they had 0 effectiveness in their position.
LOLOL , got to give you points for great effort.!

Not at all the second half the saints consistently won the contested ball all over the ground.

Weller has stalled. He should be doing much better. He does some good things but he's a shadow of where he should be. Hope he can sort his shit out and take the next step instead of ending up the next Sheridan.

If Blakely played, we would of won. Bloody boogie boarders.

Cannot agree with this at all. He is one of the few players in our side that looks dangerous with the ball in hand. Yes, he makes absurdly poor decisions at times, but I'd far, far rather that than say a Spurr/Ibbotson zero risk approach.

In his first season he could barely get a touch.

Agree to an extent on Weller.
If Sheridan had made that pass that Weller did, he'd be drawn and quartered.
Just a bizarre **** up

Weller took a risk which didn't come off but clearly they were instructed to take risks and switch/hit the 45 in the corridor. Makes sense given our lack of talls and marking targets to do this instead of bomb it down the line everytime. He is also one of our better kicks so no issue for me.

Biggest concern is still our continual lack of chemistry going forward (outside of Walters). Need our mids to get back to kicking more goals too in Mundy, Fyfe etc.

You're not serious surely? Weller has been killing it...

Melt time. Why the f**k are people talking Suban up and thinking he deserves a contract extension?!!??? We delisted guys like Barlow, de Boer, Mzungu, Clancee last year because of their birth certificates. Suban must go or it's a year wasted that a kid could be on the list. Even rookies can play games next year. I don't get the Suban love after two ok games. Would rather delist D.Pearce and Sutty, but they have contracts already. Suban. SUBAN. F**k me :drunk:

You know what really pisses me off? This is our forward line -

Walters

Ballas and midfield kicking goals

Crozier

......daylight

still going......

Our 'key forwards'

I am not sure anybody actually thinks Suban is now gun, but you just can't drop him after his last two weeks.

Odds are he will regress to his usual form in the coming weeks (based on history), will be dropped and traded/delisted at the end of the year.

No, they were all delisted because they can't kick, unlike Suban.

Weller had a bad day but he's made great progress this year and has been fantastic for most of the last month or so.

Very short sighted to say he's not developing well on the back of one bad game.

Baffling really.

Not melt worthy but so annoying that Apeness hasn't been able to play any games this year. The ruck/forward spot is a big issue for so many clubs including us. We used a 1st rounder 3 years to patch this hole in our list and we're non the wiser if we have actually fixed it.

Apeness when not injured has shown a few flashes. Able to clunk a mark, able to kick a goal, very mobile for such a big man and stole our hearts when he laid out Goddard. But we don't know if he can put it all together consistently. His fitness has been a major issue, in the few games he played he struggled to run out the game. This is understandable with the fractured nature of his training.

We've trialled Griff, Johnson, Tabs, Cox and Collins in the 2nd ruck role to various degrees of success/failure. We're screaming out for a big forward to relieve McCarthy/Kersten of the No1 defender and we're screaming out for someone to be the 2nd ruck. Apeness has the attributes for both roles but we won't know if he can make it until he plays a solid block of games.

He's contracted for next year so hopefully he can be cherry ripe for the start of preseason. The question is though do we back one of Tabs/Apeness/Strnadica to come good or do we look to draft in another ruck/fwd just in case? If Sam Hayes is available at our 1st pick do we take him? I would much prefer one of the 'Christian Petrecca' types that are on offer at the top end this year.

I'm in the 'back in the boys we've got camp' which is why it's frustrating we're not able to pump games into him while we're down at the bottom of the ladder.

Ditto for Uebergang. Could be KPF or KPD and still no idea if he offers anything at AFL level.

Ditto for Zarke. Maybe I'm a dreamer, but I still hold out hope that he could come good once again. Not buying this pea-heart commentary - bloke has been injured for years. If still injured, sure delist him. But a fit and healthy Zarke offers a lot.

There's also Zaarke, who without his knee issues (and some will say ditto the ticker) may have provided the solution we seek.
With the early promise shown by BC(Big Cox) and Hodor our big man stocks may be turning and if our other candidates get off the injury table there'll be competition.Dunno where Uber fits but sounds he may advance the solution.
I like where we're going and who's taking us there at the minute.

Was Pav talking about this during the match when he said it would have happened sooner but Walters got too sore for it?

It's unarguable fact, but ok, obviously you have the memory of a goldfish.

DeBoer, Pearce were drafted in the Same draft as Hill, Suban, Ballas. Mzungu would be pretty close in age.

They had their papers stamped early last season because of it, hence no amount of tearing the WAFL a new one down at Peel could get them back brought back into the 22.
